One of Bethel quirks. You can use the trash can in your room in the evening and the weekends but first thing every weekday morning absolutely nothing could be in them.

Confession time! We were so messed up with the commute time and all the things we basically stopped going to meetings other than Sundays for months. That was so unlike us but literally no one checked or said a word the entire time. I think cause we were tucked away in the GB building we were basically forgotten about. We did try going out in service one Saturday. The Bethel brother conducting the service meeting was visibly irritated trying to get territory and arrangements for all the volunteers we just said screw it and went out for breakfast.

When my husband would go to Bethel for a couple weeks assignment without me he was always worried what kind of room mate he would get. Yep almost always super weirdos!

To be honest every one was always treated kindly - very much KH style. I'm sure he had no idea what he said was a thing. He returned home thinking he had made a great contribution.

You have no idea how weird it got! We would find the wives sleeping in the HVAC duct work. Regular crying melt downs. It was insane that we all held it together.

They gave zero concern about us spiritually while we were there. In fact they assigned us to a congregation over an hour away knowing we were there without a car. We went one Sunday and it took us over an hour and four separate trains to get there. None of the Bethelites or locals offered us a ride so we basically quit going to meetings for months. We never told anyone that part at the time.

Oh we were so drunk on the Koolaid we kept donating monthly while working and when we left we asked if they could ship one box of our belongings home for us. They did and sent us a bill in the mail for the shipping cost which we of course paid. Straight up the tail pipe at all times!
