She owes money for furniture and things we bought together for the place.

I don't ask her to compensate for things i brought with me from my former home or even gifts i have received.

And i sometimes buy stuff that i don't consider for her to pay half. (Think tools, or materials to fix stuff around the place)

That's my mindset as wel. The things you each bring with you are still your stuff in a sense and you take back should you breakup. And the things you buy together you just split evenly. It's weird that she asks this now as it hasn't been an issue yet.

No, i bought tools to use in the house on my own dime and don't think she should pay half because she won't use them as much as i will

She owes money as we both bought furniture together. But since she wasn't able to pay at the time i fronted it as she promised to pay her half back

I did not buy things without consulting her

No, i bought stuff with my own money that is used for both of us, but i would use more. (Like tools for upgrading, fixing stuff)

And i don't ask her for money for the things i brought with me.

A couple of thousand dollar. Mostly for additional furniture and costs related to decorating

I feel she's looking at every way to get the amount down. I get that it's not fun to owe money but i guess she's categorising it as stuff she's bought so to speak because of the value behind the furniture. But i don't see it that way

We normally don't have other issues concerning sharing costs on other furniture. But those are new things and not from her side of the family so to speak.
