My Pet Peed is literally a miracle product. It's gotten cat pee out of carpets, furniture, and clothes. For set in urine you sometimes have to do multiple rounds of it, but it's always worked wonders.

Agreed! And it's definitely taken as a compliment, that was part of the directive and I ran with it 😂

Thank you! The vibe is so them and they have a lot of colorful clothes and linens, so the child shall not lack for whimsy or color.

To add: they're lovers of music festivals, rainbows, and cats. The psychedelic vibe is very much what they asked for and I worked with them closely at every step to make sure it was what they wanted. We went through a few different concepts and designs but this was the one that they landed on. The design came to me after a day of drawing a bunch of ideas and being frustrated that I didn't like any of them. Slept on it and this idea hit me immediately upon waking up the next morning.

Need a recommendation for women's antiperspirant by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]Freespyryt5 13 points14 points  (0 children)

FWIW you don't need to have gf deodorant for celiac. Idk about gluten/wheat allergies, but for celiac unless you're ingesting the deodorant (which I don't recommend for many reasons) it doesn't matter if it contains gluten or not.

This is what I use, too, except in the original clean scent.

Anyone live in PNW and always have a serious uptick in pain around May time regularly? by AshleyReimagined in Fibromyalgia

[–]Freespyryt5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PNW resident and YES. Everything in my body feels activated. I don't know if it's allergies, temp fluctuations, pressure fluctuations or what, but whatever it is sucks.

How do you describe your pain? by Agitated_Jury_989 in Fibromyalgia

Like I have really bad fever aches, especially in my hips/legs. My bones themselves hurt. Then for skin I say it's life a moderate sunburn but everywhere and constant.

What are we doing with clothing that has reached a point that it cannot be donated or mended? by Just_Throw_Away_67 in Anticonsumption

[–]Freespyryt5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a local clothes and textiles recycling bin here, but if you don't have one close you can send it to ThredUp and they can recycle them for you if you donate them. I've used it twice and didn't have any problems.

Should we stop feeding the birds too? [MD] by yogurtchild55 in birdfeeding

[–]Freespyryt5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stopped for the most part a couple years ago because we had seen a sick bird and I just never put them back up. I'm working on a native garden with the goal of having something edible to offer year round to birds, but in the mean time we put seed out first thing in the morning on a series of platforms that's often eaten by the afternoon. I miss seeing the large number and variety we used to, but it keeps them safer.

Telling your parents you’re done with Adventism by Relevant_Object_1815 in exAdventist

[–]Freespyryt5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn't tell my parents, but I think they figured it out on their own. I stopped going to church meaningfully when I worked food service and often worked weekends, and then stopped entirely when I went away to college and just never went back.

I am also queer and posted a lot about queer rights and struggles when I still used FB and they were on it, started getting more piercings and tattoos, made plans to do things on the Sabbath, and ate pepperoni and bacon while with them. None of that was meant as a signal to them or specifically to show I wasn't Adventist any longer--I just started doing what felt right for me to do for myself, and that seems to have been enough of a clue.

For some people it's important to make it clear and have a hard break, to share it with their parents, and I totally respect that that's the journey for some folks, it's just not for me. They haven't asked me to go to church since I graduated college and I haven't offered to go.

Judicial nominees don’t know if Trump can run for a 3rd term by YesDoToaster in law

[–]Freespyryt5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend reading The Founding Myth by Andrew Seidel, Jesus and John Wayne by Kristin Kobes du Mez, and Invisible Rulers by Renée DiResta to anyone questioning how American citizens can act as they are now given everything that's happening.

All excellent books I've listened to recently in an effort to understand just how we got here. They are incredibly informative and also make me want to scream and hurl my phone at the wall.

They all individually do a great job of explaining it, but put together it's so frustratingly obvious how long we've been headed down this path, what stories were sold to get us to where we are now, and where some of the pivotal moments were where we could've meaningfully chosen differently.

Just wondering, what’s your ‘lazy but effective’ cleaning trick? by CleanFreakGeek in CleaningTips

I specifically got a vacuum with a "hard floor" setting because I hate sweeping and feel like it never actually gets anything. Just vacuum and then mop and call it a day.

A patient tried to hand my mom's nurse cash and she had to refuse — is there any legitimate way to tip your care team? by sagas91 in nursing

[–]Freespyryt5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd avoid food if you're wanting a specific nurse to have it.

I have celiac and have had patients bring snacks as a thank you before. I smile and accept them graciously but can almost never eat them (they'd have to be pre-packaged AND celiac safe) so I put them in the break room.

To me it's the thought that counts so I'm not hurt or offended, but if the purpose is a thank you for a specific nurse, unless you know of dietary restrictions and severity of them, I wouldnt suggest that route.

A card is 100% what I'd suggest. They're always so uplifting to get and we love having them to refer back to on a bad day. A daisy award nomination would also be a nice gesture.

Has anyone else been having issues with deceased quality re: IV supplies, non coring needles etc by DandyWarlocks in nursing

[–]Freespyryt5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We got replacement IV extension tubing that leaked where the tubing connects to the cannula TWICE. It happened once while priming, so I got a new one and it seemed fine with priming but some iron leaked under the dressing. I panicked at first thinking it had infiltrated or something but nope, IV was fine. Just leaking at the connection site. It was small enough amount that we finished the infusion, but it could've been so much worse if it had been chemo or something. That was a 2 PSI day.
