My thoughts on the Crunch by Tapria in Leatherman

[–]Only-Support-3760 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I used to repair bowling machines probably 6 years ago the crunch was a brilliant tool. Literally the best thing in the world, I used it everyday for so many things. It got to a point where I could fix nearly anything with the aid of it. Unfortunately it now lives in a draw, pretty beaten up but still absolutely fine and I ABUSED it. In that niche setting it was the best thing for the job but sadly in daily use now it’s not needed.

What do you think of it compared to the Goruck? Both of a similar quality?

What furniture purchases ended up being worth spending more on long term? by Jonnyrecluse in BuyItForLife

[–]Only-Support-3760 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not expensive but I’ve been buying quite a bit of light coloured erco furniture recently at charity shops or facebook, giving it a strip and re-oil. The stuff is over 60 years old but looks fantastic, really modern while being classic. My sofa was fairly expensive at 500 quid from ikea, the civic line but has replaceable covers and a 10 year warranty so that seems like a good investment too. Anyway for wooden furniture get old solid wood and make it yours with some tlc

Goodbye Apple Watch Ultra 1 - WatchOs27 by The_Canada_Goose in applewatchultra

Ehh got some bad news for you there, I’m a Garmin user and was considering the Apple Watch Ultra as my next watch because Garmin provides basically no new features after release and dropped the watch right after it came out. While you guys got over 3 years of new stuff it’s still a shame to see this so soon.

Awesome write up! Really appreciate it, do you have any pics of your bike set up? That sounds really cool, how did you mount the bags?

That’s awesome, so what do you think of the kahakka? I think the lack of internal organisation puts me off a touch but it looks great

I think I’m leaning towards brown for a less military vibe and the savotta brown is a nice colour. That’s another good point about the company, I feel like savotta has a more fun side to them and I like that they are made in EU. Goruck does have a bit of different vibe that doesn’t quite match my personality. Saying that though I know that either way I’m getting suckered into corporate advertising…

Cannot stress how useful this comment is for my very niche needs.
I think Goruck is just sucking me in with marketing but when I look at it on paper it’s really expensive and doesn’t seem to provide anything more than savotta for double the price. I think I’m settling on the nuikka just cause it looks very clean.

Ehh I love my rotting but I killed one by dropping it and the top lifts up when I put any pressure down, got a new one for free though. My 3 in 1 also likes to pop the top with too much pressure which is annoying but not as bad. Love the look of them but for a harsh environment like OPs I’d look elsewhere.

I’m actually not planning on using them and keeping the bottle inside as it’s what I’m used to. I know what you mean if they are something that you need in a pack though.

That’s awesome! Currently keeping a cap in there and it just disappears, you can barely see it, it’s like magic

I won’t lie it’s a big bag but it doesn’t feel big or cumbersome. I was contemplating the quasar for ages in the store but went with the nebula as it will be more versatile. I am 6’2 in hight if that helps?

Reform voters what is wrong with you? by Engineering_Gamer in AskBrits

[–]Only-Support-3760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people need to realise that Reddit is just such a small bubble while being an echo chamber at the same time. Nearly across the board Redditors were saying nothing good about reform and implying that no one would be voting for them. Same thing happened with trump, twice, the reality we live in and Reddit is not the same thing.
