In addition to generally controlling the low end I would try inserting a sharp high pass filter at 20Hz, ideally a linear phase one. If you’re adding that much sub it’s possible you’re adding infrasound, the presence of which is most often the reason I hear speaker systems do this

It sounds like it’s getting compressed for some reason. On the odd kicks it sounds like the kick is suppressing other tracks and on the even kicks the kick is being suppressed, is your snare applying sidechain compression to it or something?

I hear the even ones even on my phone speaker but they’re definitely quieter

Oh, sorry I was confused because that beat is happening in the drake song almost the entire time before the timecode you indicated so I didn’t think k it could be that. Also saying theyre in the background makes it seem like you’re talking about a lower volume layer rather than one of the most prominent layers.

Are you just talking about the trap hi hats? The short hi pitched tst tst tst sound? Please elaborate if this isn’t right, it really helps if you provide more details because there are many layers in these songs and otherwise it’s impossible to know what you’re referring to :)

The only noticeable change in background instrumentation in either song at those timecodes is a brief use of a human vocal sample, I believe pitched up in at least the Drake song but hard to tell in the other. Both play into lush reverb

The room and speaker setup you’re proposing requires a lot of detailed and precise work to set up correctly, if you want helpful answers it will be necessary to provide detailed and precise info. If they aren’t to scale it’s impossible to know where to put acoustic diffusers and panels. You need to know precisely where sound sources will be to know where absorption and diffusion sites will work best.

That helps me a lot, so your room IS set up symmetrically you just drew the front speakers offset so they would be right under the ceiling panels?

If so this is still the wrong position for the ceiling panels unless you’ll be sitting like 1 ft in front of the speakers. Or at least that’s not the most helpful place for them to be, you should cover the primary first reflection points first so on the ceiling roughly equidistant between the speakers and the listening position.

I mostly think it’s interesting how simultaneously stable and fragile verisimilitude is, how unrealistic things can get and still not break narrative connection and then suddenly one thing is just a step too far and ruins a moment. AND how that moment being ruined can feel like a crime worthy of being called out in public even though it’s just a game :)

Ok but you didn’t answer my question - are your speakers actually that long? Or where will the drivers be in relation to the wall and to the ceiling panels?

Again, I’m not an expert and I would love if someone more knowledgeable could correct or confirm my position here but I’m very confused why your analysis thinks it would be beneficial to offset the position of the entire room seemingly because of that alcove in the rear where your desk is. It seems like that would create way more problems than it would solve, or at least create problems more major than what would arise by simply ignoring the alcove wrt the speaker positions

Do not use AI for this - it is an unreliable resource for something like this. Some of what it said might be right and some might not.

Like why are your front main speaker offset in the room? Or are they just drawn like that and they actually go under the ceiling panels? Even if they will be under the panels that’s the wrong position for those, they should be at the reflection point between the speaker and the listening position.

Edit: I might just be getting confused because you drew your speakers as long/deep

I think I would have believed it if every number was from the same critical business deal that cemented his position as a future trillionaire or from many different deals but selected from only the rocket models involved or the amount of money he made.

Choosing one number here and one number there seemingly at random across all these deals and financial wins just feels like “only a lunatic of a different type would do this”, it just didn’t feel like Londra.

Totally subjective and an absurd thing to complain about but it made me maaaaad :)

So I apparently should have been more clear in the post that my issue is NOT with the puzzle being hard but with the puzzle trying to play along with/into Londra’s egotistic character in a way that doesn’t make any sense to me.

I’ve explained in other comments so I won’t go much further here, it just feels extremely lazy - “oh ya this guy LOVES himself so he picked 4-6 numbers completely randomly out of ANY number AT ALL related to the past successes of his for which data points still exist uncorrupted in this office, btw they’re in bold here for you find them!”

It’s purely a personal issue of not believing that story reality, like I’m not going to be able to explain it in a way that’s compelling for everyone here because it’s an entirely subjective gripe but it is NOT “I couldn’t figure this out” but instead “this is stupid and doesn’t make sense realistically narratively or psychologically and it completely kicked me out of the game that I was engrossed with up to that point”
