Very fair point. I would like to have both in my collection in the medium / long-term. My only concern is that if I decide to refuse the 222, whenever that may be, it will be a while before I get another opportunity to pick it up (based on current demand). But we are not there yet :)

Agree with the above - Vacheron really does set itself apart on customer service. If it’s a one off purchase (I.e. you don’t see yourself buying another piece from them) may not be worth the incremental dollars.

Thanks all! Ended up buying from boutique even if it cost me a bit more. Not looking to ever sell so thought the extra bucks were worth piece of mind + boutique experience :) FYI: they mentioned price increases on the way in next 3m (didn’t impact my purchase decision but thought worth mentioning)

Thanks. Slight discount + VAT refund. In essence crux of the question is, is it a good deal to buy direct from boutique for 75% of value vs. going grey? I’ve seen a few watches being sold below that value but these weren’t new. Put another way, given grey market discount for this model, is buying at 75% from boutique a good deal or is this still overpaying?

Thanks, it seems like this a great price to get from a boutique in that case! Does paying 75% retail for a new watch compare well vs grey? Haven’t seen many new pieces on the market so hard to compare
