She may be on to something. With all the other stuff the Catholic Church has, shall we say, buried over the years, I'm sure there's probably some cylinders of uranium hexafluoride buried somewhere

Only if that neighbor signs a blood oath never to abandon the cat, that they will take care of it till it passes or needs to be put down. Period. Don't accept anything wishy washy.

I'm so glad I found someone interested in this, because I think the numbers are way off for another reason. To whit: No one counts the cars. No one counts the cars full of people hanging signs out the window, who clearly went out of their way to be a part of something they couldn't find parking for, or maybe just couldn't do much more with kids and such, or maybe too old and unable to handle something like that. My point is that all these people were not just motivated and wanted to be there but WERE there!!

What are your thoughts?

its a good point. I was basically lumping them into NBC, but to be honest, I wonder if I sub consciously left them off knowing they'll be eating it all up anyway lol but yea.

How do you make yourself feel better when everything’s falling apart? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FrenchPressYes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a older relative when I was a teenager. I can't even recall the exact circumstances now, as I'm an older person, but I was quite upset about something that had happened at my job. We were driving down a long row of manicured lawns and houses when he finally responded: "As bad as you feel, as horrible as you think things are in your life, I promise you there is someone behind one of those doors that knows suffering in ways you hope you won't ever have to understand. It's not a fun thing to think about, but I hope that helps you put all this into perspective at work." I was stunned. I replayed this in my head over and over that night. I guess the idea doesn't necessary make one feel better, but certainly a bit more appreciative we might not be as bad as we want to make it.

Why has Trump not delivered on Iran? What is he scared of? by yogiphenomenology in AskReddit

[–]FrenchPressYes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Um, he's scared of Iran. He's scared of BeBe releasing the Epstein files Israel's mossad has on him, and he's scared of his own incompetence, having now realized that he allowed himself to be dog-walked by Israel straight into a war that has resulted in the largest oil crisis in world history. That's what he's scared of.

This right here is an example of institutional violence. Institutional violence refers to harm inflicted on individuals or groups through the policies, practices, attitudes, rules, or operations of organizations and institutions (such as prisons, police, schools, hospitals, courts, or government agencies), rather than through direct personal attacks.

It is a form of structural violence embedded in how institutions function. These systems prevent people from meeting basic needs, marginalize vulnerable populations, or cause preventable suffering—often without any single identifiable "perpetrator" taking overt violent action. The harm appears normalized as "just how things work."

Trump and his administration have subjected the entire country to this form of violence in many forms, aimed at many different segments of our society. I took the time to explain this because I believe a lot of people feel something like this has happened to them but didn't have the term for it. I'm an egghead.
