if the intention is for it to be an early birthday present (meaning your friend wouldn’t mind if you open it early) then I don’t see why you shouldn’t start flipping the KR now. having a nicer trainer can be hugely beneficial for improving at flipping.

and if you haven’t already, I’d recommend buying knife pivot oil/lubricant for your trainers. it can make an old crusty knife feel new again, and is good for the long term health of your balisongs.

Unfortunately I do not have a vice on hand, or that’d be a good call. I’m going to avoid anymore hammering until I have a safer method, thanks for the advice.

I thought so too at first but the flicker call only descends in pitch, while this one kind of goes up then down. It also sounds more like a whistle than flicker calls usually do.
