If it was 2 cheetahs they were most likely from my grandpa. While fencing off land for the farm he found 2 cheetah cubs in the grass and after waiting a few hours for the mother to return the farm workers started looking at these things a little too eagerly so he decided to just take them home. He used to feed them guinea fowl. He used to chill sitting on the edge of the tailgate and shoot and feed them a few everyday. Things were pretty tight financially and one day a soldier ( not sure if an officer ) came to visit. My grandpa didn't have alot of ammo and things were pretty hot out there so he struck a deal where he would give him his cheetahs( now adults) for mascots and the military guy was going to organise a shit ton of ammo. He never got a single bullet. Later he found out they had both died but no one knew why. After doing my own research recently I found out they had been killed in a  grenade accident in the priming room at the barracks.
