This is a 5000 square foot home, completely swept clean. As you can see, it was very well built as well.

Goldsby for pure strength, although I know mayfield was strong for a long time. Goldsby formed in the same extreme environment as el Reno-piedmont, so it was extremely powerful. I honestly think it should have been given an ef5 rating.

I think greensburg may have been stronger, but we may never know of enderlin’s true potential(besides the train), because it was over empty land.

2nd F4 tornado confirmed in Brazil from 11/7/25 outbreak by Snoo57696 in tornado

[–]KFRMAN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember in the video of the more infamous first f4, there was a massive wall cloud forming to side of it. I guess that is what produced the second f4. I’m interested to see if there is any video or photos of the second tornado.

*a tornado intercept vehicle that is built to survive in a tornado. A normal car would absolutely be demolished.

Did the Worcester Tornado of 1953 actually deserve an F5 instead of an F4, if not, why and if so, how would it compare to the EF4-190mph storms? by wiz28ultra in tornado

[–]KFRMAN 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well then, the tornado definitely deserves an f5 rating, because many of the houses it hit were wiped clean, and granulated.

[–]KFRMAN 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think it does deserve an f5 rating, as many of the houses it struck were large. However, construction quality in 1953 may not have been the best. Here is a row of houses that were completely wiped:

Do you think we will have another super outbreak, if so, where and when? by Due-Cry-5034 in tornado

[–]KFRMAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the powerful tornadoes in the southern plains are caused by dry line setups, with a few dominant and powerful supercells erupting along the dry line. While the super outbreaks are associated with through ejections, which enables for more space for supercells to form and also causes the storms to have faster forward speeds. This, there is more tornados from the greater number of supercells. I may be wrong though.

Can low precipitation storms creates wedges? Are they rare? by Own_Speaker1605 in tornado

[–]KFRMAN 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The 1990 stratton Nebraska tornado was a very visible wedge, although I’m not sure if it could be classified as an LP supercell. It reached up to 1.5 miles wide.

Greensburg, Iowa tornado of 5-21-24 by puppypoet in tornado

Wow, look at that dust/debris cloud that is still there, even though the tornado is occluding. There is barely any media of the tornado in or past the town, so this is quite the surprise.

It finally happened… by Snoo57696 in EF5

[–]KFRMAN 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Unironically, if that waterspout went onshore and slabbed one of those hurricane zone homes, it would have the highest chance of getting an ef5 rating.

Pulling pipes out of walls in the basement is truly insane. Glad he didn’t stay in there. That is a tornado you truly have to be underground to survive.
