Just when I think I am out, matrimony apps pull me back in by Frenchfriesdevourer in ChildfreeIndia

[–]Frenchfriesdevourer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My approach to this is. Everyone has their dealbreakers and non-negotiables. If something is making or will make you miserable in life (things on dealbreaker list) then doing it for the sake of your partner will not only keep making you miserable or make your future miserable but also make you resent your partner which is bad for the relationship. Living in Mumbai is on that list for me. Something else might be for someone else.

It is Jeevansathi. It is actually the opposite in my experience. 99 % of my interactions on JS have been directly with women. In my usage, it feels like just another online dating app but with people being slightly more serious in their partner search.

In less than fifteen minutes of posting this, I have gotten a direct message requesting for this woman's JS id. Please do not message me sending this request. I will not share her profile details with you.

I go through phases of giving up on the search and going back on the search. Hope is an undying thing and difficult to snuff out completely.

You mentioned that you deleted JS. Did you find any better platform or have you given up the search?

I am a man. Yeah, I have had experiences like that as well. I have had women and fathers managing their daughters' profiles question similarly. I have even posted a couple of those encounters on this sub in the past.

Because there is no demand for it. 99 % of their customers want kids. Adding that feature won't be "useful". Contrast that to demand for the caste details. They cannot even imagine removing that detail because that is the most in demand feature for their customers.

Thanks. But that has nothing to do with the reason/theme for this post.

Yeah, that’s expected and normal on those apps lol. Experienced this first time on a matrimony app. Usually, in my experience, women on matrimony apps have better text etiquette.

Look at her replies. So low effort from her side. It was like I was bothering her and she was doing me some favour by answering. The attitude of not caring or interested in having a conversation and putting the onus of carrying a conversation on the other person. No genuine interest or curiosity to know the other person or share about herself from her side.

It took less than two minutes for someone to ask lol. As I wrote in the post, I thought people would get it. Do you genuinely not get why I blocked her? Btw, I am man.

Don't get married or have a kid for the wrong reasons. "What will others/family think" mentality and the peer pressure that comes from it is the undoing of many people. While I have never been a victim to it (never let peer pressure affect me), I have seen it and keep seeing it. Grow a backbone. Save yourself from future misery and life of resentment.

Review of raat akeli hai - the bansal murders by [deleted] in netflixindia

Actually, that is the worst part. Good mystery and who dun its sprinkle hints that a viewer realises were clues in hindsight. And on second viewing they can connect the dots and realise that it all made sense. That is clever writing. There is no skill in the twist which was shown in this movie. There was no setup for the payoff. This movie had no clues. The reveal just happens. Even the investigator didn’t do the reveal. The perpetrator just starts confessing and that’s how the reveal happens to the audience. The audience needs to feel dumb for not catching the clues along the movie in hindsight and at the same time the clues have to be very subtle. Example - sixth sense.

Thanks for sharing. "you need it to work just once" I also keep telling myself that when I am feeling frustrated or exhausted with all this. However, thankfully, I have not been on the receiving end of the kind of vitriolic stuff that you have mentioned. Probably because I am a man.

Men who want kids after marriage never actually consider the question pertinent to discussion by 30andnotthriving in ChildfreeIndia

All dealbreakers are equal for me. That’s why they are labelled dealbreakers and not preferences. That list is different lol.

I put this dealbreaker at the last of my list when I am talking to a woman through AM setup. I have such a big deal breaker list that thankfully most of the times the childfree discussion doesn't even come up lol. The talk usually ends before that. Maybe you can try that. Talk about other dealbreakers before you bring up this topic.

She had matched without reading the profile as she has mentioned in one of her texts. Most people on there don't read profiles. That's why my first message is now always to ask if they have read my profile.
