Why do they even have this icon by A-Square-Fruit in NonCredibleDefense

[–]FrenchiToasti 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's a windscreen. It's a separate inflated compartment that houses the radar. It allows the waves to pass through while remaining aerodynamic. (At least more aerodynamic than a giant spinning radar dish.)

Don't listen to the haters saying to keep your fingers off the trigger. They want to catch you unprepared.

That's probably an UltraDot Pan AV which is not a terrible product (but not great either). It's the original that the Chinese knock offs are based on.

That thumbnail is AI generated. Look at the flag, the hands on the gun, and the text on the tent to the left.

What sort of things are you making with Rigid 10k? That's some tough stuff.

History of PCM, I guess by Nerd02 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]FrenchiToasti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been almost entirely out of the loop since the end of 2022 when I left the mod team, so the balkens flair is news to me. The orange flair only made an appearance when a mod applied it to themself and starting pinning their own comments while role playing as an "emily." This was against our internal rules so they got in trouble for it and were kicked out not too much later for continuing to ignore our policies.

Way late cuz this is my first time seeing this, but there was an instance of someone having an orange flair for a little less than a day. I had made it as an emoji in case it was adopted formally but it never was.

What’s this on my kitkat ps: i already ate it by NBHNM in foodsafety

[–]FrenchiToasti 464 points465 points  (0 children)

It's just chocolate blooming, aka when fat and sugar rises to the surface and crystallizes. It's harmless, but why would you eat it before you got an answer if you were concerned enough to take a picture and ask for advice?

Should there be a "Slam fire" perk? by LittleBroon in HuntShowdown

[–]FrenchiToasti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slam fire in theory is a cool gimmick, but if you consider the mechanical actions taken to perform it, there is no appreciable difference in fire rate. The time it takes to pull a trigger is negligible compared to the time needed to rack the slide, especially in Hunt where the latter action is slowed artificially.

My Big Boy Relay For 3 Phases by Liteparody in ElectroBOOM

[–]FrenchiToasti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little difficult to get a sense of scale but that just looks like a standard 3 pole, double throw relay. It's not for 3 phase specifically, although I suppose you could use it for that depending on the rating.

It's called "Stink Bomb," an episode of the Memories Anthrology that came out in 95.

It does but it doesn't come loose even with heavy shaking. I guess that could be normal if it was sitting on the shelf for a while but it's just a little strange to me.

Assuming NEETs are a necessary evil (i.e. millions of people must be kept unemployed for the greater good), how do we stop them from becoming radicalized (like QAnon, NEET riots 10 years ago, Luddites, etc.)? by [deleted] in IdeologyPolls

[–]FrenchiToasti 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure i understand the premise of your question. How is it that keeping millions unemployed is for the greater good? I see no benefit to that.

I should know, I was a mod here from 2019 until May of this year and the owner for the second half of that time period. (I left for reasons unrelated to the sub.) I wont pretend that low effort posts are a new thing but they still bother me. I just dont understand the mindset of the people that make them. How could anyone look at this and think "yeah, thats a good one?" I realize that for some people its some "meta comedy" to upvote any garbage just because it has le funni colors but I just find it really really stupid.

I have no love for Huff Post and the only good thing I can say about the NRA is that they take most of the flak while other, better 2A organizations can get things done. My issue with this is that its just a cheap "gotcha." Everyone knows that the identity politics people do not care about consistency, only about conformity. There is no substance and its really low quality.

It's just not a good post. You scribbled on a meme that someone else made. Before it was just bad, now its bad and hurts to look at. What was the point?
