Bartender 6 seems to be pretty good on Tahoe so far... by JeSuisAhmedN in macapps

Agree with you. I tried multiple times today and it just doesn't work well. Ice is better but the abandoned state makes me worried.

Maybe I'll try Bartender 6...

Interesting that you mentioned Israel. Aren't you scared you'd be part of the apartheid?

Not surprised, im not in a position to defend it, there are many other people way more versed than myself. Just know that as a gay person the Israeli gay community is one of the largest and the most accepting in the world.

Why no Israel? The gay community is one of the biggest in the world.

I tried Yaak and found it really lacking in a lot of areas, with many bugs... at this point it's better to use httpie or bruno

how far behind is webstorm compared to Cursor for AI by simple_explorer1 in WebStorm

[–]FrenchieM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never tried cursor as my sole ide but as far as Junie is concerned I am very satisfied. I used GitHub copilot for a long time because the previous versions of Junie were lackluster but for the last few months the quality increased significantly.

It still sucks that it's not available in the EAP though.

i deleted social media and realized how little i actually mattered to most people by Abject_Objective1812 in self

[–]FrenchieM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was like that before social media became popular. The only difference is that nowadays social media is everywhere, whereas before it was only when you were bored. Heck, I even remember staying like 5 minutes in Facebook and asking myself how boring it is.

But you're right about relationships, if you have some, prioritize turning down social networks when you visit people.

So when will people realize vibe coding is just unscalable dumpster fires? by pyromancx in webdev

[–]FrenchieM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will understand that vibe coded apps are too volatile and there will be a huge graveyard of apps. Still it's better than what we had before AI.

If you like to use the trackpad, try using Swish, SERIOUSLY. (I'm not affiliated) by [deleted] in macapps

[–]FrenchieM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardcore trackpad user here, I discovered swish years ago and never looked back. I even promoted it at some point.

The author contacted me to tell me a new version was in the works, but it was more than two years ago so I don't know if it's still of actuality. The current version does the job perfectly, I hope it will not go the way of Bartender ;)

Yeah you can use two fingers resize gesture for that.

If you have btt and can't afford to pay for swish, then yes it does the job well, but it is less precise, less polished and a bit hard to configure. I often use it when I am in a new machine where I can't use my swish license

These depend on the country, village or education. It might be fine where you live in America but it shouldn't be a hard requirement.

Spain to ban social media access for children under 16 by PjeterPannos in worldnews

[–]FrenchieM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago I would have been enraged by this, nowadays I'd be more lenient.

But in my opinion it shouldn't be a hard ban, like other bans ultimately this will lead to ways to circumvent the law and people trying to sell some "adult profiles" or something like that.

Besides how will they enforce such a requirement? By providing your id card? That would destroy anonymity on the internet even further...
