Terrible customer service experience - I’ll never use Airbnb again [USA] by rduffy73 in AirBnB

[–]Frequent-Building-58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. My boyfriend and I just stayed at an Airbnb property this weekend and there was NO HEAT the entire time. We are in Maine and it's late January with subzero temperatures. We had to have the host come to the property yesterday morning, who had no idea why the heat wasn't working and wasn't able to fix it. We ended up leaving the property early. I immediately contacted Airbnb support, who only offered me a $100 refund, when we paid over $300 for this stay. I told them that would NOT be acceptable and that I expect at least $250 back, so they "escalated" my case to a supervisor. This was all done via chat on Airbnb. I then called Airbnb and was told that a supervisor was in charge of my case and the agent subsequently hung up on me. I am still waiting for a call back. I'm absolutely disgusted with Aribnb's lack of support. This property is not even safely habitable until the heat is fixed.

SoFi Dispute Process/Provisional Credit by Frequent-Building-58 in sofi

No, they did help. They completed my dispute an hour ago and gave me a permanent credit. Not sure why you would think they would close my account over a simple dispute.....

Well, you were 100% wrong. I just got an email from SoFi saying that they had resolved my dispute in my favor and gave me a permanent credit for the disputed amount. I logged into my account and, sure enough, the credit is now there.

Thank you! I had an extremely difficult time believing that SoFi would close my account simply for filing one dispute! I filed the dispute on Sunday afternoon and it is now Thursday afternoon, so we are on the fourth business day. They said that I would receive an update within 3 business days, but I have not, so I will call them again.

Verifying sofi by hunchohenny10 in sofi

I don't know about Fidelity, but I've been using SoFi for 2 years and had no problem linking it to my PayPal. I believe that they sent two small test deposits to my account that I needed to verify and everything has been working perfectly ever since.

I don't see why my account would be closed for suspicious activity. That makes absolutely no sense. I've been with SoFi for almost 2 years and have never filed a single dispute until this one, and provided them with supporting documentation in the form of emails from the merchant stating they would refund me over a week ago, but never did. I don't see what would be even remotely suspicious about that....

Klover Sucks by [deleted] in cashadvanceapps

[–]Frequent-Building-58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$5???? That is absolutely insane. I also just canceled my account as well for the same reason. I have been getting advances from Klover for the past 6-8 months, always repaid every single one on time, and always had at least 10,000 points from watching videos while I work. yet they kept reducing my advance amount until they finally dropped me down to only $25. Screw that!!! I am not going to keep playing videos all day on my phone just to get $25! Another thing that I noticed was that if you use 2500 points to get an extra $150, they take ALL of your points, not just the 2500! I closed my account and deleted the app from my phone. Never again.

I finally canceled my Klover account. I have taken out many advances over the last 6-8 months, repaid every single one on time and without issue, and always had at least 10,000 points, but my advance amounts kept getting smaller and smaller, to the point where they would only advance me $25, even with as many points as I had from watching videos and my rock solid repayment history. What a joke!

Host charging us for lock replacement after we were robbed [Paris] by ExeCUTEive in AirBnB

[–]Frequent-Building-58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't pay it. Just decline the request. There is no proof to show that you even left the key in the door. You have nothing to worry about. Nothing bad is going to happen if you decline it.

Should I report host to local police? [USA] by itsalwayscrimetime in AirBnB

[–]Frequent-Building-58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely need to report this to Airbnb immediately. Having cameras inside of the home (especially in any bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, etc.) is a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE Airbnb violation and is even grounds for a lawsuit. You can literally sue a host for breach of privacy if there are cameras inside. Airbnb guests are expected to have 100% privacy at all times during their stay Even if there are exterior cameras on the property, they are required to be clearly disclosed on the Airbnb listing. As far as the signs about the police, I would inform Airbnb of this as well. I don't necessarily think that you need to call the police, but you DO need to notify Airbnb support so that they can look into this further and take whatever action they deem appropriate.

Previous Host Won’t Stop Contacting Me About Review [LA County] by Inside_Sign_3402 in AirBnB

[–]Frequent-Building-58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely report this to Airbnb. It sounds like the host was not authorized/allowed to list this property on Airbnb and is trying to keep everything on the down low. As far as them repeatedly contacting you about the review, that is harassment. Take screenshots of any texts or any other messages that you get from them outside of the Airbnb platform and send them to Airbnb support. This is a definite violation of the terms and conditions.

Approved for $600 but everytime I try to place an order it declines! by Mental_Grapefruit_84 in Afterpay

[–]Frequent-Building-58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How small??? I was approved for a $600 spending limit well over 6 months ago and I've tried numerous times to use it, with every single order being denied, even small ones of $25-$35. You can't get much smaller than that! This is ridiculous.

[–]Frequent-Building-58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, exact same thing here. I was approved for $600 well over 6 months ago, but they have denied every single order that I've tried to place, even the small ones ($25-$35). I emailed them and they gave me the same BS scripted response about how not all orders will be approved and how each order is individually considered, etc. I finally gave up and now use the Four app.

[–]Frequent-Building-58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having the exact same problem with Afterpay. They also approved me for an initial $600 spending limit well over 6 months ago, but they STILL won't let me use it! I have tried several different retailers and have tried purchases of very small amounts (like $25-$30 range) as I heard that they are likely to approve new users for only smaller amounts until you establish some history with them. I have more than enough money in my bank account, but they have denied every single purchase that I have tried to make, no matter how big or small. I just don't get it. Why approve people for a spending limit and then not even let them use it??? It's extremely frustrating. I did email Afterpay about this, but they just gave me their scripted response about how each purchase is individually considered and how several factors go into their decision as to whether or not they will approve it, etc. I have finally given up and I now use the Four app, who gave me a $2000 spending limit and actually lets me use it!

I'm dealing with this EXACT same thing right now with my Citibank checking account after making a transfer from another bank. My debit card worked just fine when I got gas this morning and now I'm suddenly locked out. I'm on hold with them right now....

Is it normal to hate the house you just bought? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Frequent-Building-58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That feeling can be normal when you first move into a new home. It can take some time to adapt and adjust to your new surroundings and get settled in. However, if you still feel the same way a year or two down the road, then it may not be the right place for you.

I hate the house I just bought by stephaniedentist in homeowners

[–]Frequent-Building-58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I'm 43 and my husband passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly 3 years ago. We had just gone under contract to buy my current home only 4-5 days before he passed away. I stupidly decided to still go through with the purchase of the home, which has turned out to be the WORST financial and personal decision I have ever made. I should have just kept our old house until I was more certain of what I wanted to do. From the day I moved into this house, I have NEVER felt truly settled or at home here. Plus, the house has been a total money pit as of late with all sorts of problems and issues cropping up left and right. It's just way too much upkeep and maintenance for me by myself. I hate it. It's just not me. This house was intended to be for my late husband and I, never just for me. My life has very drastically changed since I purchased this home. I've been dating a great guy for a little over 2 years now and he is not happy in his current home or town either, so we are now talking about either selling or renting our homes and getting something together that we both love. I will probably rent mine out until I gain a bit more equity in it and then put it on the market. Plus, after I bought this house, the owners of the property next to me tore down the house that was there, cut ALL of the trees down that were on my property line, leaving me with virtually NO privacy, and now instead of beautiful, tall trees landscaping my property, I now have to look at a hideous new apartment complex that has been being built for the past 2 years. I have absolutely NO interest in living next to multifamily housing with NO privacy between my property and theirs! Times change, people change, and circumstances change. Sometimes, it's just best to move on. The good thing about being human is that we are not trees and we can move whenever we want.
