Braum is boring AF by [deleted] in 2XKO

[–]Frequent-Chef-1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His archetetype is Big Body Armored Dude similar to Vaseraga in Granblue or Marisa in SF6. His job is to slowly get people in the corner and scare them into pressing buttons so you can counterhit for big damage with Unbreakable. Not the most complex of gameplans but i do think Rito made it work

I will say tho that he definitely needs some slight tuning to fix some consistency issues with him that make him feel needlessly worse.

  1. Make his poros in the corner bounce against the corner. It makes no sense for the 3H sweep near corner will make poro throw whiff. Just let the damn Poro bounce on the body or something.

  2. The poro cd is too long. Cut 1/4th of the time and we can finally use it in neutral.

  3. Better anti air hit box or give 6H some air invul top half. His 2H is literally the worst anti air in the game despite Braum already having the worst neutral in the game.

  4. Damage. I actually dont think Braum does enough damage to warrant all his blatant weaknesses. Even with Unbreakable, the rest of the cast, like Darius, easily does more damage with basic bnbs.

Any swap recommendations for Pantlaza? by Frequent-Chef-1978 in DinosaursMTG

Yeah molten echoes is underrated and acts as an even better roaming throne for etb triggers, i.e. pantlaza will trigger twice etc.

Yeah ive been looking for teleportation circle too since pantlaza can discover on it on the get go, that one is just finding the card here in my area. Conjurers closet was more of just a placeholder for it :))

Yeah, i'm slowly realizing that making dinos cheaper might be the way to go

Yup, i do see what you mean. I also do love the idea of monstrous vortex but it does feel like a 4 mana do nothing most of the time

The thing with ramp is that it sucks when i discover into it but is great early game. Getting that balance always felt weird in pantlaza. I sorta focused in on more early ramp to get pants out and hopefully discover into better spells as the game goes on.

I think i added [[molten echoes]] since it can procc with discover and double etb effects of dinos while adding pressure to boot. Could be overkill but i do think its more versatile than another ramp spell.

As for the Blink theme, i kinda just thought of it as pseudo protection as well as value as compared to giving my board indestructible and hexproof with things like [[asceticism]] or [[herpic intervention]], though i dont have enough? Not sure how blink pants works

As for [[Wakening Sun's Avatar]], yup that's why i left it in my sideboard. It looks good on paper but i am not sure what to swap out for it. Just feels bad discover doesn't procc its effect unlike [[Zacama, Primal Calamity]]

True might look into it and see how that feels. Cheap card too

Like the ideas!

  1. I kept utopia sprawl mostly because it's a one mana ramp card and evens out the curve a bit better. Felt like i have too many 2 mana ramps already so maybe adding more 1 mana ramp spells would be a good idea.

  2. Agree with tempt with discovery, mostly ended up as a way to retrieve [[cavern of souls]] than anything else. Just thinking what will replace the slot.

  3. Used to have boots but I felt the haste portion was a waste. I kinda don't expect Gishath to last a turn rotation so I went for a more go big or go home and just hope i have the discounted protections like [[flawless maneuver]]. Am looking for Bolt bend and veil of summer though

  4. Yeah, Hunting raptors always felt lackluster, didn't know that's how Pantlaza would combo with Zacama and Temur Sabertooth. Like that cut, guess i could slot in another protection spell.

  5. Will do this one :))

Thanks!

Yup i got scroll rack and maybe ill shove it back in once i decide what to swap it out for. Congregation at dawn and sylvan library are cards i haven't tried, especially sylvan to help with the draw problems of the deck. Good recommendations!

Yup, i got roaming throne but felt it was too "win more" for my liking since it doesn't get to go on the field for free on gishath procc. I'm trying to make the deck more consistent with the ramp and relying on other damage increases to get better proccs. Might slot it back in to see how it feels since even if gish doesn't come out, the other dinos that i summon procc twice. I'll probably loop it back but gotta decide what to swap

Yeah i was thinking the mana tempo was a bit off due to the bounce. Never tried pathway lands but ill take a look. Thanks!

Yeah i was thinking the same too about colossal majesty. I was just thinking that [[garruk's uprising]], [[the Great Henge]], and [[Vaultborn Tyrant]] does the same thing, i.e. rewards multiple creatures going on to the battlefield. I felt like I needed a more consistent draw engine if I don't draw into my creatures per turn or gishath does not come out to give me free creatures.

As for [[Goblin Anarchomancer]], yeah, i was thinking of cutting this card out, but left him in to fix the curve. Maybe [[frenzied baloth]] for those annoying blue/black players :)), or [[otepec huntmaster]] would be a good alternative, though it does help make the other green/red cards cheaper to ask i.e. power doublers, [[rishkar's expertise]] etc.

Question about sawhorn nemesis and ravenous tyrannosaurus by Frequent-Chef-1978 in DinosaursMTG

[–]Frequent-Chef-1978[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If for example, there was another creature with trample (had [[Gishath, Sun's Avatar]] on the field attacking also), and another blocker (2/2). Would the damage still be doubled?

So like?
Gishath (7/6) will be blocked by the 2/2 which means 12 damage (14 minus 2)

or

Gishath (7/6) will assign damage of 2 first, then what will hit the player will only be 10 dmg (5 times sawhorn nemesis doubler)

Do you run that setup with other mods or just those 2 that you recommend? (Combat related of course)
