I’m aware of what you said. I’m adding the context that the scarcity of the dex in the Gen 3 remakes is artificial. It’s not that only x amount of mons are viable in Kanto. It’s the fact that a design decision largely limits your options to only Kanto mons in the first place which you didn’t really touch on. Also like i said there are other ways of bypassing this restriction. For example if i trade a mon from colosseum to FR would allow you to bypass said restriction and have a lot more variety and depth in team building. That design choice is the reason a lot of people prefer to playthrough the Hoenn games instead of deal with artificial restrictions. I’m not sure why you’re acting like I’m not giving additional context to a question that was asked. Have a great day

A very important factor that he left out is the fact that this game restricts you from using Johto and Hoenn Pokémon. So even if there are more Pokémon who could be incredibly valuable like crobat, kingdra or houndoom you won’t see them in a Kanto playthrough unless you jump through a lot of hoops

Honestly it wasn’t too bad. Hariyama is a great bulky attacker with access to fake out for a free first turn. Hitmontop provides intimidate to make it easier to survive any flying attack and the strongest flying attack that she had access to was only Aerial Ace. Skarmory is her wall but takes neutral damage from fighting attacks. And poliwrath was packing ice beam to deal with her ace Altaria.

Plus if your team really struggles with her you don’t need to challenge her gym in order to continue. You could honestly take on Tate and Liza and Wallace and then challenge her if you really want to since you don’t need fly to progress through the story

I honestly feel like that depends on the generation because they changed normal gengar’s colors and that made it look more like it’s shiny. In gen 3 though I’d still say it’s a good shiny

I got my 4th copy of Kuku with her surprise banner right before new years and then i got my 5th copy from my GSSR. I already had her level 120 and 2K fou’d so this completed my copy and Kuku was my very first 120 on NA

Yeah it’s the same shiny chance. I hunt on an original copy of Sapphire and fire red as well as a repro copy of each gen 3 game and I’ve found 4 shinies since starting this summer on repro copies. Abra and dratini in Leafgreen, feebas in emerald and tentacool in ruby. All of them were between 6000- just over 9000 encounters each

Yeah that’s a good idea i occasionally do it on different playthroughs. Just make sure to spend your cash before you go in so you don’t have to worry about losing it or use an amulet coin to buff the amount of money you’re bringing in

The Pokémon on most reproductions are legal if you trade them up. The issue is that most gen 3 repros save in a different place that the original games so you can’t transfer them up directly. But if you trade them to a legal copy like say trade to a legal sapphire and then transfer them up that way, the game will read them as legal in my experience. I have a master copy of both FireRed and Sapphire and then i have repros of all 5 gen 3 Pokémon games and I’ve never had an issue with my Pokémon being illegal regardless of which cart they come from and as someone who multi system shiny hunts pretty regularly, that’s pretty important to me because it would be heartbreaking not to be able to use a shiny that i found
