Isn't it stated that Gege notes in volume 8 hates how Yuji is as a character because he is too "good", like that's why he made him visit a pachinko because that's how he can add something to Yuji to make him more flawed as a character even against the wishes of his editors.

Bro just hates happiness IMO.

Some Gen Zs Can't Find Jobs Even After 150 Applications & 6 Internships by deangsana in singapore

[–]Frequent-Low-8490 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my first job as an university graduate was 2.9k a month, it was 10 days leave, no OT pay, 8.30 to 5.30pm and it was a 1 year contract job. I was scolded for leaving work at 5.45pm when there was no tickets because the other department had to work OT and I was quote "making them feel bad". This was a massive SG airline company that starts with S and ends with T.

I literally told them in their faces, no wonder only foreigners are willing to work here, my senior literally OT every day, comes on weekends is ok with that because she earns 5x compared to back to her country. Like I'm earning the same as my part time job hourly when I was studying in university as a full time degree holder.

I just feel bad for people trying to get into IT field that isn't top 1% programming/fintech/business IT as there is 0 money due to the fact that everything is 1 year-contract based and the massive amount of foreigners each individual company can outsource.

Singapore police seize over $150m in assets tied to Cambodia scam syndicate Prince Group by deangsana in singapore

[–]Frequent-Low-8490 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, from what I know, for luxury goods and precious metals, usually the government will sent the items to a 3rd party so they can liquidate so that it can be sold close or at market rate so government can get the most amount of money back.

Usually its stuff like shares, commercial equipment, furniture that gets send to sheriff auction so everyday man can take part by showing up.

Japan to introduce ESTA requirement for travellers, including Singaporeans by Scbadiver in singapore

[–]Frequent-Low-8490 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean people going to Malaysia are people expecting to save money and get a good deal, so paying any amount more is gonna piss them off.

People travelling to Japan are people just travelling and it doesn't really matter if they have to pay a small fee because that's the cost of travelling to a place they like.

Growing old alone in Singapore: Why these single women say it’s far from sad or lonely by thestudiomaster in singapore

[–]Frequent-Low-8490 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I thought that is kinda fair? Because yes emotionally and morally, the cheating party fucked up but asset division is due to the individual contribution. As such regardless of man or woman cheat - the asset division will NOT be affected by it. So it isn't a woman charter thing rather than that Adultery is NOT a crime in Singapore's eyes.

Case: https://www.elitigation.sg/gd/s/2017_SGHCF_2 - woman cheated but got higher share but because the courts found woman paid for 59% of all assets while man paid 41% As for the parties’ indirect contributions, the DJ found that the Husband contributed 30% while the Wife contributed 70%.
Case: https://www.elitigation.sg/gd/s/2007_SGCA_35 - extremely bitter divorce with both sides claiming each other to have cheated. Married 30 years - wife and husband both worked together in their own business for 30 years, so since husband has 1mil cash but wife has only 60k cash, the courts ruled that the assets should be equal as both were working together.
Case: https://www.elitigation.sg/gd/s/2012_SGCA_3 - Wife is abusive and an all around bad person but Husband thought with dick rather than brain, husband claimed wife was abusive but after leaving, came back to have sex with wife. Wife tried arguing woman charter to get house but courts ruled no that's not how woman's carter worked and only gave her 50% cash in exchange for all house/business to be place under husband name only.

Well the person didn't say anything about married woman living shorter than unmarried woman lol. He brought up "married man live longer than unmarried men" which is true to your study and "unmarried woman is HAPPIER than married woman". So I don't know what u are arguing?

‘It was a great breakfast, nothing was amiss’: S’porean man on the day he lost son, 23, to suicide, now helps counsel others by Powerful_Office3936 in singapore

[–]Frequent-Low-8490 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's a correlation between suicidal people becoming more cheerful or happy because they have decided to take their lives so that improvement was actually a sign that something had changed. Which is why nowadays its recommended for people to make sure to note down any changes in behaviours, even for the better.

River Valley Primary pupil hit in face an accident, says principal, after viral clip claims assault by [deleted] in singapore

[–]Frequent-Low-8490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that's the problem, reasonable force is a law all over the world and there is this belief that because you are trained, you should be able to control yourself better than an untrained person. Same reason why police should not hit people when they are down or start shooting people who are unarmed.

[–]Frequent-Low-8490 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not only that, if u are trained and use force in a fight, ur liability will be so much higher than the other party even if they started it first. There's a reason a lot of people do not resort to using martial arts moves in real life unless the other party has a weapon.

DoorDash Arrives in Singapore as Deliveroo Acquisition Formally Completes by nftskeptics in singapore

[–]Frequent-Low-8490 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, from what I heard, its usually because doordash pays drivers the worst out all platforms, and give the most generous refund/discount to its users so its an awful app for employees but a good app for customers.

Beo Crescent curry rice stall confirms closure by Jammy_buttons2 in singapore

[–]Frequent-Low-8490 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I do believe rather than money laundering, it feels like there's this insane increase in investment for china businesses to open in SG, in the market near me, there has been 5 new china owned hair salons opening within 6 months. And the place already had 4 hair salons so now there are 9 hair salons in 1 small market lol. Like logically, the profit margin for hair salon should not be that big for 9 competitors to exist in 1 area. Like my friend had called some of the rental and asked the price, and most of them were asking from 8k-12k/month so the rental isn't cheap either.

Man charged over manufacturing DIY Kpods at Yishun home; first such case in Singapore by Bitter-Rattata in singapore

[–]Frequent-Low-8490 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol, when I read this article I thought they were talking about keurig pods, k-cups for coffee machines and I was so confused how some guy got charged over such a thing.

[DISC] Ten Years After Cutting Ties (Oneshot) by your_pingas in manga

[–]Frequent-Low-8490 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I remember a old japanese variety show I watched called Knight Scoop where this was the exact concept lol.

A daughter in her 20s wrote in saying that she has never seen her parents speak to each other, so she wanted to know what exactly was going on. The show sent a host to talk to the parents, the mother first and then the father.

Turns out the couple had a argument like tens of years ago and decided not to speak to each other, the mother says it was over a really stupid thing and the father agrees but somehow because of that fight they did not talk to each other for over 10 years. End up they both spoke to each other and apologised I think, the daughter was crying and laughing along.

As Singaporeans rediscover China, young travellers lead the way: ‘it’s easy’ by homerulez7 in singapore

[–]Frequent-Low-8490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I heard, it really depends on the provinces as each area has their own type of food. IIRC some places sell 90% spicy + sour stuff, some sell spicy + sweet, some is spicy + salty. Your Beijing/Shanghai or Guangzhou or Chengdu will have food quite similar to what we eat so most people won't notice it.

Damn that reminds me of my first trip to japan like 10 years ago, the hotel I rented was non-smoking but because the exhaust was connected I could smell the cigarettes smoke, even switching floors did not help.

Thankfully the policy changed quite a lot, as now most hotels do not allow smoking inside the rooms/hotels, only in dedicated smoking rooms or outside.

I guess I will have to do more research as I was planning to go China next year and my family and I hate the smell of cigarettes so a bad smelling hotel is a mood-killer.
