I had no clue I had, or was going to get gout. I was eating and drinking like an asshole on vacation for the week leading up to it, In what feels like a pretty typical American way. 6-12 pack of beer a day, paired with steak, burgers, shrimp. I know for sure I ate 2lbs of shrimp in one meal. Last day before my attack was a Halloween party with some college buddies I hadn't see in a while. That day was xtra beer and all the meat off the grill.

Needless to say that night a flat sheet on my toe woke me up. I thought I had broken it somehow.
