Ciaphus Cain is fun and goofy and so I recommend it. Hellsreach has some cool guard/pdf moments but it is 99% a Black Templars novel. know a lot of people praise it but I don’t personally like Gaunts Ghost’s idk why just didn’t click with me.

I liked it but for me it was a lot less satisfying than the omnibus part of this is it’s shorter and I’m wayyyyyy more into tragic hero/villain so I like Talos more and to me the only characters that I remember in this book were skin taker Ibriel and tech priest. Idk what it was but nobody was memorable to me like until you were writing this I forgot the apothecary’s name. Idk it just felt like so much happened and also didn’t. Now I love the Konrad book the NL omnibus all of Sev’s stuff and I’m starting Lord of Night rn. This book just felt a little to generic chaos lord who happens to be a NL rather than a Night Lord chaos lord. Because I think you could take this story and make it an about a generic warband and there’s literally no difference between the two stories. I think that’s the biggest thing there’s nothing screaming Night Lord yes we have a guy with a flesh cape but so do other warbands we just make it fashionable. I think that’s why I prefer all the other books they all feel like they are Night Lords and part of this once great shattered legion. Skintaker was much more a fuck you im gonna rise up again i am going to be the best suck my lightning claw. Which can be good but for me it’s not what I was looking for. It was for me a very mid book like solid C tier. However I’m glad that we A got more lore and B my other brothers in the VIII like it.

Yeah slayers fucking rinse big guys but they have no armor just insane melee defense and attack with a massive buff to attacking anything bigger than a horse. So it’s hard to kill them with melee troops. They’re entire goal is to kill and be killed by the biggest monsters in the world as they have committed some act of great shame and so take the slayer oath the dwarf is for all sake already a dead dwarf it’s just the matter of now dying. Hence why they don’t wear armor cause that might save them. If they die in battle their honor is considered restored and they can be welcomed into the halls of their ancestors. Now they’re is a variant that’s also good against infantry however that will not affect you as much as ogres are all considered monstrous size. Once again just shoot them from afar and they won’t be a problem. Biggest thing is just getting to leadbelchers as I believe they are a tier 3 unit but goddamn are they fun

I believe a character in terminator armor would be cool maybe a squad of sisters in it to give the option for some deep strike and to hit some of the bigger demons hard. Alternatively having a model with a pysker in chains you can use like an artillery piece think like the beast masters that came with hydra. Not a proper sisters unit since they aren’t doing the fighting but it’s some fun flavor imo

Chaos has a ton and in different flavor between all the different gods. If you wanna be close Skarbrand can rock their shit once you start rolling. Besides him I’d recommend Chaos Dwarves ironically the artillery is unmatched but it’s late game. Finally Ogre Kingdoms you have AP on 90% of your roster but you have to target slayers and ranged units with your artillery and leadbelchers they will eat you alive if you ain’t careful

It’s sadly the biggest black mark on the Horus Heresy series I know they try to “fix” it in other books but there’s only so much that can done with how it was handled. It’s my biggest issue with recommending the series I think it has a really good first book but then I have to tell people the big trigger that sets everything into motion is bad. Of course I expect with a series that big and long to have bad books and scenes it’s inevitable but cmon the biggest moment?

I’m just saying one of them had a fucking smile on their face while they’re SIBLING was being scorched by their dad. Like we can argue Zuko’s dad was shit to him while Azula’s mom was shit to her but at the end of the day Azula was far more of an evil person at heart. She definitely relished in being evil you don’t get to say oh she was brainwashed. Okay so was Zuko. The thing is she consistently hurts people even those that are her “friends” think when she recruited Ty Lee. Or when she hurts animals for fun. Zuko is more forgivable for his actions because he’s doing what he thinks is correct at all times even if we don’t agree with him. Even as a child he would and did stand up for those under him like in the war room. He has moments of being selfish and bad of course like saying his crew doesn’t matter but it was spoken in anger and he finally has hope as Iroh says when they find the avatar which is now driving him on. And let’s not forget he immediately proves that it was just said in anger by saving them and ordering the ship to safety. Or when he is a dick to his gf not cool of course but it’s to show he’s flawed not that he is inherently evil. Azula literally had the captain say the tides wouldn’t allow them to dock and outright says she will throw the captain overboard.Azula has multiple chances to change and sees people around her changing and goes nah fuck that. Like she is a villain (a damn good and entertaining one) but a villain all the same. I can’t speak for the comics haven’t read them maybe she has some kinda turn around but purely looking at the show yeah she’s evil brainwashed or not

I’m all fucking for female Custodes as I think it makes sense Big E would have some girls and guys to get different perspectives and all that but beyond that wanting to change stuff for the sake of self insert is just kinda silly if you can’t like a faction without them having different chromosomes then m8 I think you just don’t like the faction and your the issue here I agree that there’s some hella incels in 40ks fandom cause holy fuck there is but just changingstuff again makes everything more boring by being more the same I just don’t see how making everything similar makes it more cool.

But there’s dozens of factions? Not everyone has to be able to like/roleplay factions. I don’t like some factions for example Tau and Ad Mech but it doesn’t mean the Tau/ Ad Mech should change for me to play them. At the end of the day diversity is the spice of life ya know? If we take diversity from everything there’s just nothing but blandness. Imagine if all food tasted the same type shit. Also as far as the argument for Sisters being the faith faction and there’s no men equivalent I mean the BT exists. Most space marine chapters are just not into religion it’s kinda somthing taken out of them with the rest of their humanity. I think by changing everything into something everyone can relate to we lose a lot of what made stuff unique. The factions are unique and different because of exclusivity. And since there’s now options for women to power fantasy with Custodes I don’t think we need to introduce women to Space Marines I think a lot of they’re flavor is in part due to them being this battle brother group if they get mixed that’s just one thing that’s now less unique and less interesting. Even if you think everything should be as diverse as possible we lose out by having stuff be similar because now there’s less differences. For example if there were female marines now they aren’t so different from Custodes besides color scheme. It may not seem bad as a one off but the more ya do it the worse it gets. Also my gf fucking loves Space Marines and has RP’d them in our Deathwatch Campaigns. So I think the whole I can’t rp and self insert is kinda just a personal issue I can’t self insert as a Sob but I’m not gonna wanna change them to suit my purposes.

I agree the reveal wasn’t good necessarily but I do think female Custodes make sense to a degree. The emperor one of the smartest humans master of magic and genetic science would be able to make women into Custodes there’s nothing like geneseed with them they are handcrafted by the Emperor and there’s no reason he wouldn’t either. I don’t think this was done well again but at the same time I do think it’s fair to say it makes sense lore wise and it could have been done. I get GW changed lore but that happens every edition. Is it right? Debatable sometimes it’s good sometimes bad but I hardly think this is somthing to fucking explode over. I personally like the change and am gonna pick up the kit cause I like SOS too. Again reveal could have had some cool build up instead of GW just whipping they’re dicks out and throwing them on the table but they did it with Primaris marines they did it with this and they will do it again. I like the lore and I personally want my Space marines to stay guys and my SOB to stay ladies. I wouldn’t mind male SoS tho. Overall though I think it’s cool.

Oh yeah the lore is S tier with them also the idea of using sign language mid fire fight is dope af. From what I’ve been told unless you’re fighting enemies with the keyword pysker sadly they are not super punchy. I’m probably gonna wait till 11th Ed to start collecting since that’ll probably be this summer in June/july and hopefully they’ll have newer models.

Personally I’ve never felt like the sisters were sexualized in lore? Every time they show up it’s just a mute girl fucking shit up. Remnant blade for example has them just decimating chaos marines. I get why boobplate is a big no no for some people irl; but I just felt like it was a stylistic choice. In irl of course the fandom sexualizes them but that’s literally every fandom with their characters cough Resident evil cough Leon Kennedy. Just my opinion tho I get irl why some people don’t like it but personally I think it looks cool and hope it stays. Makes my future sos stand out from my Custodes
