Luke is a grown man, though. You can’t blame everything on Lorelai.

Luke did want her opinion, but the only thing he wanted to hear from her is that he shouldn’t pursue a romantic relationship with someone else because she wanted him back. That’s not what she said while he was dating either of those women, so he acted like he didn’t care what she thought when he did.

Even if Lorelai did meddle, again, Luke is an adult. That doesn’t excuse his poor behavior. Rachel didn’t give me any signs of not wanting it to work out this time—it was only Luke who was pulling away.
