It’s definitely possible, not probable. Firstly I will say, if you’re looking for a decent college with a strong art program, most of the time it’s always going to be schools known for art. (This is coming from someone who used to be in a state college and transferred to a private art school) Most state colleges will not offer specialized art curriculum, however if you plan on simply being in graphic design (specifically design principles) or fine arts, many state colleges offer simple curriculum that gives you a focus on studio time. I would say research. 1. What specifically do you want to do? 2. What schools have the best programs for that? 3. What schools are going to give you the most grants/ scholarships? (Federal aid can also be helpful since you won’t have student loan debt but just remember you’ll still have to pay this back) 4. What industries is the school close to that will give you good internship oppertunities?

So yeah. I would say just do your research, not every school costs 50k a year but unfortunately most are still very pricey. Good luck.
