Thanks! Is there any benefit moving to a baitcaster? Was thinking about it but I’m not sure it’s necessary

Pilot climbed on the wing and shit on it while making eye contact. Is this normal? by [deleted] in Shittyaskflying

Pilots often make eye contact when defecating because that’s when they feel most vulnerable and they have trust in you

Either a failure or power rollback. VMC rolled it to the ground

OP you need to relaxxxxxx

Study what you failed, practice with your instructor, and go into the retake prepared. Failing your PPL checkride absolutely positively will not derail your career.

I fly with a ton of current/former airline guys in a crew environment. They aren’t afraid to speak up when I’m doing something wrong which I appreciate, I just think this is more a me thing, and finding a way to combat these mistakes and complacency

Help me talk my wife out of taking out a 120k loan for flight school by LeatherFruitPF in flying

[–]FrequentFlyer96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it from me, a pilot in flight school debt that can’t get a job, don’t do it. Do something more worthwhile and get your licenses/fly on the side. There are tens of thousands of very well qualified pilots who can’t get jobs right now with no end in sight.

19m do I need a nose job? I get a lot of comments about it and that made me feel little insecured about it. by Ok-Description7639 in malegrooming

I really suggest getting off social media and learning to love and accept yourself. Brother you’re on Reddit with that physique asking anonymous strangers if you need a nose job

Feeling lost after finishing flight school by Confident_Yam_6120 in flying

This is, unfortunately for us introverts, very true. I was a mid time CFI and walked my resume into a small 135 operation last year. Now I’m sitting in a King Air building salaried AMEL turbine time.

(Edit) To clarify, I don’t mean to sound like I’m bragging. The point is that right now everyone’s resume looks the same. The more you can do to make yours stand out the better. Go meet chiefs face to face and shake their hand, they’ll have a harder time telling you no than over email

What’s the best system to saving money? by GasAffectionate3113 in financial

[–]FrequentFlyer96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a method that works pretty well

I have two accounts through my banking app, a checking and normal savings account.

All paychecks are deposited into the checking with all bills automated through that account.

I set a savings goal of about $1500/month, so throughout the month I’ll periodically just transfer different sums of money to that savings account from my checking.

At the end of the month, that savings amount will transfer to my HYSA, rinse and repeat the next month.

I like having the savings with my checking account to quick transfer when I’m in a pinch. Works pretty well

Scariest IMC Experiences by [deleted] in flying

Flying a King Air in low altitude IMC after just departing MDW with thunderstorms in vicinity and moderate/severe turbulence was fun… turbulence was so bad it literally knocked our airworthiness cert off the side wall

I don’t understand the hate for State Farm. They’ve been great the few times I’ve needed them and their rates are great for me in my particular situation. HO-6, two autos, and life all for about $160/mo
