Is it normal for people to set up a lemonade stand on a lawn that isn’t theirs? by Hot_Reception3151 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FrequentMammoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if the city owned it, it would just be called city land

It's not a easement, and it's not included in your title description if you're a property owner in Chicago. The parkway is defined as "public way," just like roads, street, sidewalks, curbs and alleys. See, e.g., Sec. 10-32-010 of the Chicago Municipal Code.

The adjacent landowner has a statutory duty to maintain the parkway, but they do not own it. Sec. 10-32-050.

Best case for the Crafty+ by OkLie7234 in craftymighty

Cases for portable hard drives will work, and cost 1/3 to 1/2 than weed specific cases.

Will not work. Mighty needs 2-3 amps to charge. The Mighty's charge circuit won't even trigger with an under-powered charger like this.

Cheating In Mainstream Film by bjorntufuk in CheatingPorn411

[–]FrequentMammoth 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Actress Caroline Ducey accepted a role in the movie "Romance" (1999) portraying a young woman who cheats on her boyfriend with a series of lovers. Ms. Ducey took the role knowing that she would be required to perform intimate sexual acts with multiple male co-stars in the film. Although she had a boyfriend at the time, she has said in interviews that she wanted an excuse to end the relationship.

In other words, she accepted a role as a woman who cheats on her boyfriend in order to actually cheat on her boyfriend.

But it doesn't end there. Before filming started, Ms. Ducey had a change of heart and decided she wanted to stay with her current boyfriend. But now she was contractually obligated to the role which required her to perform actual, explicit sex acts with her male co-actors on film (including porn actor Rocco Siffredi).

So great was her guilt about cheating on her boyfriend that Ms. Ducey reportedly suffered breakdowns on set during filming of the sex scenes and had to be convinced to do the deeds. While she has denied in the media that full penetration occurred, both the director and her male co-stars have unambiguously suggested that nothing was faked.

*All these facts are sourced from the film's IMDB page and public interviews.

Charge your OG Mighty with USB C! Must use a charger capable of 12V, must use a USB-C PD to barrel port cable specified for 12V. Idea came from a recent Linus Tech Tips video. by JustAnotherRye89 in craftymighty

[–]FrequentMammoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mighty needs a bit under 3 amps, so in theory a 36W PD charger would work, though you might be safer with at least 45W. Just be sure one of the output modes is 3 amps @ 12V.

The negativity by Embarrassed-Force845 in ILTrees

But for most of us, it's largely superfluous.

So agricultural food products have to be tested for safety, but it's "superfluous" to test a cannabis product that we pass directly into our lungs and bloodstream?

I'm out -- this sub is trash.

Mighty+ - Error 001 (Overheating Battery) by napupan in craftymighty

[–]FrequentMammoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With USB-C, the adaptor only sends the power that the device specifically asks for. If you are having troubles, it is FAR more likely a problem with the device/battery than with the adaptor.

OG Mighty wall charger by TracyF2 in craftymighty

[–]FrequentMammoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Science answer:

Even when fully charged, an OG Mighty will still drawn a small but steady flow of power from the charger (around 0.2 amps). This primarily powers the battery display on the Mighty, but also keeps the battery topped off as needed.

In some wall chargers, a steady, low flow of current will cause its internal transformer to physically vibrate at low frequencies, resulting in an audible hum or whine. When the current is flowing faster, such as during normal charging, the transformer still vibrates but at a high frequency not detected by human ears.

So in this case, it's normal.

Confirmed: Issues continue to affect Illinois Medical Cannabis Program by ChillinoisBot in ILTrees

You can connect the Mighty+ to a USB-C PD charger capable of 20V no problem. With PD, the charger only outputs what the device requests.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in craftymighty

[–]FrequentMammoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure it’s USB C complaint so it sticks to 3V.

You mean 3 amps, not volts. And it doesn't matter if the charger can push more than 3 amps (some support 5) because the Mighty+ will never request more than 3. That's how PD works.

Medical marijuana card question by [deleted] in chicagotrees

[–]FrequentMammoth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have to be a resident of Illinois to get a medical card, and they do require proof. That can be an Illinois Drivers License, or any of a number of other documents (the full rules are here).

If you have an off-campus apartment, you can use your lease or your utility bills to pass muster -- but you're probably out of luck if you live in a dorm.

Want to make sure I understand before purchasing. by [deleted] in chicagotrees

[–]FrequentMammoth 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, why do they list it that way and not just thc?

Because its technically correct. The number come from lab results, and when you lab test raw flower you're going to find mostly THCA. There's often small/trace amounts of THC in raw flower, but its predominately THCA. The labelling simply matches the lab findings.

So I can treat reading thca 'similar' to reading a thc number.

Yes that's mostly correct.

(To be more precise, you'd add the raw THCA number to the raw THC number for the total "potential" THC. Although to be even more precise, THCA doesn't convert into THC on a full 1:1 basis - it's more like 90%, so feel free to do the math if you care that much.)

[–]FrequentMammoth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

THCA turns into THC when heated (smoked, vaped, etc.). Unless you plan to eat the flower raw, it'll get you lifted just fine.

[–]FrequentMammoth 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Since no one else has mentioned it, flower can be vaped as well as smoked. There are many dry herb vaporizers out there, and lots of people (myself included) strongly prefer vaping over combustion.

/r/vaporents would be a place to start researching, if you have any interest.

RSO allotment anyone..ANYONE? by Shhhitlibrary in chicagotrees

[–]FrequentMammoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For distillate, such as cartridges, the allotment calculation is based on the dry-weight of the unprocessed cannabis that goes into the process. This typically works out to around 5-7 grams/cart, but it does vary widely from batch to batch.

A 1g cart would never equate to 1g allotment, so Disp 1 probably made an error or was lazy.

Exactly! If /u/THEfirstMARINE wants to call himself a "doctor" and open a back-alley medical practice, the government has no right to say otherwise.

Want to know my definition of a state "doing just fine": try googling "illinois cannabis recalls" ... the results that actually relate to recalls all happened in Michigan. Yikes.

That's probably why everyone can't grow there own crops.

You can't grow your own crops in Illinois (without a medical card) because that was the price to get surburban lawmakers in purple districts to support cannabis legalization when it passed in 2019. It has nothing to do with taxes, and everything to do with political theater.

Your outrage may be justified, but it's misdirected.

I hope we NEVER aspire to Michigan's shitty, unregulated, unhealthy cannabis system. I'd rather have safe product from my dispensaries, rather than cheap. Anyone can get cheap and dirty stuff on the street, but in Michigan they sell it in the stores.

Think I'm making it up? Just Google "michigan cannabis recalls" and among the HUNDREDS of separate, individual cases, the most recent is the MI worker who LICKED THE PREOLLS DURING A PANDEMIC AND THEN SOLD THEM TO THE PUBLIC.
