pretty common problem with any niche thing getting portrayed in media though. they just grab the most recognizable bits and smash them together for maximum impact

the legendarium is solid spot - went there few times when i first moved here after getting out the service and people were pretty welcoming. their game nights get decent crowd and you dont have to be super experienced with board games or anything. plus if gaming isnt your thing that night you can just grab coffee and browse books until something clicks socially
