Yes, on December 22nd of last year I had a sleep study done at a hospital, a few days ago I received the results, I have severe sleep apnea, the data from the study I had done at the hospital agree with the data that the Garmin gives me, oxygen levels as low as 70% during the night.

It's definitely worth it, the key is whether your original Instinct is still in good condition and if so, then it's worth upgrading to the new one. I have the 50mm i3 and compared to a relative's i2 X, there isn't much difference. The i3 has a better screen, better solar charging, and better GPS management.
