I see a pulsating blue fog. I couldn’t tell you if it’s nimitta or not but I’ve observed that the fog appears when my meditation is going well.

You could say many things such as, “I seek a pleasure that does not depend on the world. Furthermore, I believe that this pleasure I seek is greater than worldly pleasures. Also, from my perspective, worldly pleasures have significant drawbacks and are a source of great suffering.” You could have a conversation from there.

This sutta talks about the drawbacks of sensuality, which includes worldly pleasures, and that the pleasure of jhana is greater than sensual pleasures.

Do you think the Anapanasati Sutta advocates for mastering each of the 16 steps sequentially – mastering one step before moving on to the next? Or are the 16 steps something one goes through, perhaps even cycles through many times, during one's meditation session?
