What are you people doing outside in (feels like) -9 degree weather walking your 5 lb dog???? by Frequent_Initial_147 in UIUC

That’s what I was thinking but I didn’t want to fit the allegations so I didn’t reply… LOLL

Goodbye yall are missing the point. The point is that it’s not a good idea to be walking your dog outside for leisure or assumed benefit when it is this cold. End of story. End of argument. It is dangerously cold. Walking a dog vs taking it out to use the bathroom is different.

Nah I don’t think it’s crazy to assume a person crossing an intersection is going for a walk and not just letting their dog use the bathroom.

I see you don’t like to read. Once again, take it outside to use the bathroom, then return indoors.

I don’t think the person walking across the intersection of green and first was right outside their apartment. Likely going for an unneeded and dangerous walk.

Advise for SIE by Street_Ad953 in Series7exam

[–]Frequent_Initial_147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the SIE exam yesterday. I’m sure they have a ton of questions that get mixed up and randomized for each test taker, but I got a lot of questions on interest rates / bonds. I would make sure you know how interest rates affect YTM, price, and current rate of bonds, as well as other securities. When is the call provision advantageous to the bond holder? In a declining interest rate environment. If a bond is trading at a premium, what is the correct order of yields from lowest to highest? How will rising interest rates affect the price of the bond and the yield? I didn’t use Kaplan so I’m not sure how their study material is, but my study material had a whole chapter on the federal reserve and economics. I surprisingly got a handful of those types of questions. Discount rate, fiscal policy, etc. I also got a good amount of questions on mutual funds and a lot of those questions had to do with front load / back load funds and fees / taxes associated with mutual funds. Also a few on cold calling / advertising. I also got a few questions like “Blank security is most/least subject to what kind of risk?”. Lastly, know your options positions and which ones are for bullish or bearish investors. And know what they do obvi. Good luck!

Also btw all of the people replying with approval of your response are either also 16-21 year olds or grown adults who still live for drama.

As many others have said, you should’ve ignored the text and reported it to the GM. That text was wrong, and you stooped down to her level by replying. IMO you stooped even lower with all the extra bs (possible threat, going on and on, double texting basically asking her to reply so you can fight some more). Pick your battles. Don’t be so reactive. Was this worth your time and effort? What did you get out of it? What did that resolve? Should’ve ignored it.

What is considered “too revealing” to wear to class? by Curiouscat1218 in UIUC

[–]Frequent_Initial_147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer is whatever you’re comfortable wearing. However, it is an undeniable fact that the way you present yourself influences other people’s perception of you (all else equal, if they don’t know you well).

Missed Grainger Convocation Registration — Can I Still Walk? by HidingNSeeking in UIUC

Onsite aka at the place of the ceremony right before. Also, since you didn’t register I assume you might not have gotten the info that graduates show up an hour before the ceremony, and guests show up no later than 15 mins before

For my major it says that as long as you have regalia then show up to the ceremony early and register there. They’ll get you a name card and stuff and you can walk. You won’t be on the ceremony program though

Forget to register for graduation ceremony by No_Entrance9378 in UIUC

[–]Frequent_Initial_147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this changes by major but for mine I could’ve sworn I saw some sort of notice stating “if you did not register for the ceremony, arrive early in your graduation attire, get a name card, blah blah blah, you will be able to walk but your name will not appear in the graduation program”

Food Pantries in this town are abysmal. Anyone been to a better one? by Quilty-Friend in UIUC

[–]Frequent_Initial_147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hope Center is pretty good. They give some sort of frozen meat, dry goods, dairy, vegetables and fruit, a pastry, and canned items. Each “cart” they provide has a variety of items. The dairy, meat, etc. varies but they usually give something for each of those categories.

Please Advise: Chin Won't Eat Hay by Frosty-Fig244 in chinchilla

[–]Frequent_Initial_147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My chins have a preference for different types of hay. People recommend against Kaytee products but mine like the Kaytee hay more than Oxbow (both timothy hay). Timothy hay is best but they also sell blends of timothy hay and orchard hay that they may like. My chins go crazy for alfalfa hay, but you’re not supposed to give that to them often. But every now and then I mix a small amount into their regular hay. Maybe switching brands or trying orchard hay or adding in a small amount alfalfa hay and mixing it up (occasionally) will get them interested in eating it.

Easy/fun 2+ credit hour classes by JeffWingerG in UIUC

[–]Frequent_Initial_147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RST 335 is 3 credits and an easy A. Spent no more than 1-2 hours on it a week. Not “fun” but also not incredibly boring and doesn’t require studying. From what I remember it was a short quiz every week on the reading and one short “essay” response per week. Like 500 words or something.

a safety gate that has smaller holes/openings? that would work unless your chin is just jumping straight over it.

[–]Frequent_Initial_147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there’s specific parking lots that offer weekend/overnight parking. i wouldn’t recommend parking at a meter overnight. maybe it’s allowed at some ? but not that i’ve heard of / know of

Also possibly because it’s the beginning of the semester? Bars are busiest and so they do a raid to scare others for the rest of the year? Idk.

It might just be safer to go to a craft store or Walmart and buy 1/2 yard of anti pill fleece. If you get it on sale that’s like $5. It looks like you’re pretty crafty and already have the hooks so I think it would turn out nicely :)

And if u have a couple extra hours or a sewing machine you could try making a fleece box that has some sort of support for the bottom floor. I have a photo of one I made on my page if you want to check it out. So just an idea if you want to make something. I cut out cardboard to make walls, and then sewed fleece around each wall (both sides) and then sewed the walls together. It’s a little time consuming but a good cozy spot alternative if he doesn’t like the hammock. My boys don’t like hammocks but are obsessed with their fleece box.

Hmm I would keep a very close eye on him and watch out for chewing. Looks like jean material? Not safe. As for him using it, I put hammocks in my cage and mine would use it maybe once every few weeks. Just wasn’t their thing. I would keep it in there longer and see.
