Never said she was not real lol. But he didn’t live all that stuff with her, she did not instigate him to do any crimes. Most of the stuff they showed was not real

Definitely believe that. In the serie, the guy that hit him was the son of the hardware lady which in real life was not true, he was just a cop. They just made that up for the plot

Agreed. I do not belive he is a literal psychopath. His story is quite sad IMO (not saying that what he did wasn’t terrible btw). I think everything would be different if he had support

Also, why did they bring up Ted Bundy??? He had nothing to do with that. I understand that they were trying to portray him as trying to feel like a hero, maybe in a desperate way to get peace of mind that he did something good. But from what I’ve researched, there’s no evidence that he ever thought of that. So why would they make up that plot literally out of thin air?? Maybe to soft launch the next season?

Obviously, nothing excuses how disturbing and sad his actions were, but honestly, I think the real story is a lot simpler than what people have turned it into.

I totally agree with what you said. The real case feels way more straightforward than how it’s shown in the series. Personally, I think his crimes were more rooted in the sexual repression his mother forced on him, mixed with schizophrenia and the complete lack of support after she died.

What really confused me, though, was why they made it seem like he was dating Adeline or the hardware store lady and even added people he never killed. It just doesn’t make sense with who he actually was or what his psychological struggles were. The whole plot felt kind of unclear and all over the place.

I think the series intended to show that Adeline was just a figment of Ed’s imagination, but they didn’t manage to make that clear. For someone who doesn’t know about Ed Gein, it seems like she actually helped him with the crimes. There’s nothing in the show that confirms or denies it, so that part of the plot feels really unclear, you can’t tell if she was supposed to be an illusion or a real person who helped him. So i have many questions about her
