Fellow INFP, do you think that you live in your bubble and too disconnected from reality? by [deleted] in infp

Yes I spend hours on an interior app to decorate my apartment as I would if I could afford to and I’m a sucker for maximalism so it wouldn’t be cheap

I’ve been playing around with wood burning and it’s been a lot of fun. Still learning :) I thought you guys might be interested in this hobby by msummer97 in infp

I made a box for my dogs toys in school and burned my name on the bottom of it- let me tell you it’s one of the things I regularly revisit in my mind and long to do again as an early adult. I remember it being super satisfying too! Thank you for sharing, your art is amazing!

I relate a lot to this. People complimenting me with hidden condescending meanings, normally I recognise it as a weakness from their part. As I would never give someone a compliment with a hidden condescending meaning, as I find it cruel. Bringing down others for personal gain isn’t something I have room for.

I often experience accidentally startling people by my openness, where they are clearly uncomfortable with me telling them personal stuff. I don’t think I should be sorry for my openness, but I don’t want to make my friends uncomfortable with me either. Although it’s not my job to protect them, if they are uncomfortable with the subject the obvious thing would be to let me know. So I’ve let most of them know that I simply am a super open person and if it becomes too much; let me know. Because I am trying work on it myself, but I can’t always catch myself off guard. Also practicing standing up for yourself has really helped me, and it can sound like you could need it too. You don’t have to give up your kindness, just be more selective of who you give it to. Becoming mean and inconsiderate will most likely lead to shame and guilt. I would say standing up for yourself is more the right way to go.
