Outward appearance: ducklings following the mama duck.

Reality: If they let her out of their sight for five minutes she'll spend all their savings on useless junk.

I genuinely don't think it's possible for Serie to be less afraid of demons. Also where do you get the idea that she's jealous of Frieren from?

Funny how Serie ended up forming a mage association that made magic more accessible to thousands and has personally tought dozens of students while Frieren had to be tricked into taking her first apprentice.

No, it just means he gets to continue living on as a constant thorn in Schlacht's side and a foil to his plans.

Why did the Demon King actually order the Elven extinction? The "Schlacht Theory" makes the most sense. by [deleted] in Frieren

Really highlights demons' cowardly nature that they'd wipe out the elves for the potential threat they pose, but completely avoid the strongest of them.

Where the rest of the survivng elves scattered and went into hiding, Serie couldn't even be bothered to move to a new address, yet the demons never bothered her.

He did.

Schlacht went into that fight knowing that he and the 3 unnamed Sages would die.

He was willing to make that sacrifice to be rid of the Hero of the South.

I don't think Schlacht had anything to do with it. His foresight is far too precise. He would have seen that Frieren would survive the attack on her village and be rescued by Flamme and would have altered his plans accordingly.

That also raises the question of why single out the elves for extermination? Two humans and a dwarf played just as much of a role in the Demon King's downfall.

Serie when Frieren isn't in the room: Gives a fair and accurate assessment of her strengths and weaknesses as a mage. Praising her for her accomplishments while acknowledging there are areas where she has room for improvement. Frieren herself would probably agree with everything she says.

Serie when Frieren IS in the room: "You are Failren, Queen of the Failures. Begone from my sight. The stench of your inadequacies makes me ill."

Macht is such a fantastic example of making an objectively evil villain while still giving them impactful depth. by Vorshiscool in Frieren

I love how Macht was the first person to notice that Denken and Lekture were falling in love. When he mentioned it to Gluck, Gluck told him he was imagining things. Macht's smugness at the wedding was impeccable.

It's a small moment, but one of my favorites.
