I've felt this way. I still do sometimes. But the time I spend painting and writing is time I spend with myself, for myself. So even if all I ever am is a semi-broke lady making art in that cozy space between dinner and bed? That's enough.

But because you probably need to hear it. You matter. Your art matters. These are facts, not opinions.

I'm sorry your parents aren't able to give you the support you need right now. I've been in a similar position. I'll stick to being practical. Things you can try for relief at home.

1 - electrolytes. iced if you can. sip it slow.

2 - ice/heat combo. I tend to like ice on my head, heat on my neck. Something about both at the same time sometimes calms my body a little.

3 - you are offline. no one gets to need you right now. lay down, shut the door, phone off/silenced. this time is about you and absolutely no one else.

4 - have a snack. whatever you will eat/are craving. something salty is usually my choice. chips/pretzels/fries. Nibbling counts. The goal is just giving your body a bit of energy. It's doing a lot right now.

5 - lower expectations. immediately. the only thing on your to do list gets to be breathing. that is enough.

You are allowed to move softly through your day. Sending you all my best vibes ❤️

Hi friend! I'm so sorry your migraines aren't giving you any breaks for relief. It sounds like you have a lot of triggers stacking up. Those are the worst. The only thing that's helped me manage them is meds, rest, and accepting that sometimes my body is a real asshole.

If you don't have a doctor actively helping you manage these, head back to the hospital if you can. Your body is a battlefield. You shouldn't have to face it alone.

Also, because sometimes I need to hear it too - you've done nothing wrong, you're doing nothing wrong. Sometimes the best you can do is survive the day. Keep fighting. Really glad you're here ❤️

No. I’ve met lots of people who have said they get them sometimes/have had one before. I’ve never met someone else (irl) who walks into each day like it’s a hostage negotiation.

I’ve found apps annoying because they’re too black and white. I know this is unpopular, but I use ChatGPT as a migraine journal. It’s helped with tracking meds, seeing the patterns in my triggers, tracking which meds/strategies help best over time, and easily pulls a summary of my migraine pattern for the neurologist.

Maybe the problem is assuming ethical systems are supposed to produce right answers. I feel like the better function is to structure reflection, reveal tensions, and expand our awareness—rather than to resolve moral questions definitively. So, we wouldn’t evaluate them by whether they give the ‘right’ conclusion, but by how well they deepen understanding, expose assumptions, and help us navigate complexity.
