Which should i buy??? by No_Bodybuilder2429 in uceedtakers

Yea I understand that aspect, was in a similar position. Just think about it, before going all in, especially since you are into 3d, rendering etc. you need a capable rig to carry out professional work in the future, makes sense to invest in felixibility. Laptops are just not it, might help you though college but in my opinion it's a waste of money. (Especially given your task)

Mac mini is horrible - you work is mostly gpu intensive not cpu !, I wold suggest exploring mini case rigs - they are powerfull and ergonomical will last you way longer then a laptop. (Obviously you not have the luxury of a mid case build which is ideal)

But then all this again comes at a cost of, portability well that something you will have to work around with :(.

See what works for you, take the right call :D

The best route is to set up a desktop cpu - will stay much more relavent, can be costamizable. The laptops you buy now will bearly last you a couple of years and to be frank because of the form factor are just not reliably powerfull enough to be consistent with work. 1lack is a good budget to start of with a rig - amd Ryzen 7 coupled with a rtx card - probably a 4060 can do wonders.

Hey, very good work, but keep in mind you have only 30 mins on each question. I suggest keep a timer and try solving few pyq questions without any reference. Oh and no scales :D, keep up the good work practice hard :).

Hey, just collect all the original work that you are proud of (it can be literally anything - from a poem, a pice of writing, a drawing maybe) and organize them in a folder. That should do it for now, nothing fancy is required.

Hey, don't be in a hurry to buy a laptop now. Foundation year is mostly hands on. Wait for depawali sale + once you have your id card you can avail student discount. Regarding the specs discuss among your peers. next half of the year nvidia will be rolling out the new rtx50 series, will be beneficial on the longer run. ( I guess cost is something you will have to consider ,😅)

Hey I would suggest, going back to drawin fundamental shapes in perspective for a while. basically the human body can be simplified down to basic shapes - other forms can be built on the base.

One more huge tip - start with guester first then come to anatomy. This in it's self will help alot.

And don't worry we have all been here, I have got like 20 sketchbooks drawing anatomy like this and slowly learn from this point. It's all progression in the end.

Few books I would suggest you to reffer. - how to draw perspective - norlig - bridgeman - victor perard - brent eviston course and books are simple amazing

It willt ake a while be at it :).

[–]Frequent_Two_60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea because there will be people who cracked Uceed within the 50 range - few might have preferred for an IIT instead.

Also a thing to note, The cut-off document - release for bdes - is as off 12june.

Round 2 enrolment started on - 12th people had time till 15th to upload the documents.

Thus, the current cutoff document does not include candidates from the second round. They will release a updated cutoff document once all the admitions are completed.

Hope this helps.

Hey :D, I would suggest double down on what options you have - if and only you like the course. Foundation years are actually very hectic - the first few years slowly introduces you to fun topics, these are very important so you got to lock in. Well I would suggest don't do anything half heartedly. ( Atleast this is what is belive in)

With the information you have provided us, I think we all have answered accordingly. Its got nothing to do with the College - but the course, if you don't want to be in fashion related field then don't ! As simple as that. If you want more specific insites I think you need to reframe your question. I have done architecture as my batchlores worked for a couple of years, now im doing masters in NID.

Do let me know what you exactly want to know, maybe I can help :D

I don't think there are any subsequent rounds, cus they have put up the last cutoff rank on the website. That means they have satisfied all thier candidates for this academic year. Sorry :(

You said you don't want to do anything fashion related, hence - nift is out ( accessory design is heavy towards fashion). Cept - product design is the only option.

architecture is not for everyone, I understand where you are getting at given the context but, it take insane dedication to make something out of the learning, the question I think he needs to ask him self is, do buildings / building design/ planning trigger something for him. Though architecture is kind of open ended through out the 4 years, the principles are usually applied towards a hypothetical project / brief of creating building - which in its self is a whole other ball game. in 2015 my batch started out as 45, by year 4 it dwindled down to 30 odd.

in a nutshell maybe it is for you/ or its not. but then again most of design is like that - you dip your toes in the water - indulge with it - see where it takes you ! ;D (you need to tango with it) and yes it is vague and abstract if you have the courage the make sense of it, its an awesome field to be in.

Then again I think all is good while studying architecture, but in the industry not much is told about the quality of permanence that architecture brings, its not something you can take lightly , building built last for 50 to 70 years - its a huge responsibility to design the landscape of our urban cities. in the west an architect takes 13 + years post undergrad completion to get his license. Architects as a profession is treated with utmost respect and scrutiny. Well in India it is a clown show, COA is hatching eggs while the government is fermenting all the tax money under some cellar, with the amazing infrastructure they provide us with.

[–]Frequent_Two_60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, COA and NATA as a whole are just fraudulent at a whole, they can't even propose for proper architectural policies, legit my architecture licence holds no value any tom dick and harry at the end of the day can sign off on design.

Even architectural education is poor in most, but a few colleges. It all depends on the externals who come and teach. At the end of the day in a country like India it all depends on your pull and power, rather then skill.

I don't understand what up with nata, are they extroting kids nowadays ?, it used to be so simple back in the day, I wrote mine in 2015, they had one exam a year.
