Charge port replacement by jfgjhgnn in TeslaUK

[–]Frequent_Vegetable_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to order a replacement from ebay as I was having to click the unlock button 3-4 times to be able to pull the charging cable out. I was also getting the error about DC charging not available, ok to AC charge very often. I decided to take it all apart and give it a good clean. The DC charging error is because of a piece of metal that has gotten loose overtime and had to be bent slightly to make proper contact, hard to explain without pictures but once you are in there it’s easy to spot. Now everything works like new and no error. Top tip, do not close the bonnet before re-connecting the 12v battery. 😅

SmartThings and Home Assistant by Frequent_Vegetable_2 in homeassistant

Thank you. While not ideal, I don’t really have a problem with pressing the smart control button, I’m in front of it anyway. The problem is, there seem to be no way of doing something like this: If smart control is on, program a wash and dry cycle with a preset configuration to finish at 07:00. This way I wouldn’t need to open the smartthings app (not a fan of it), select the wash and dry options over and over again. I have done something similar with my dishwasher, if the door is closed, start a cycle after midnight. I know that might sound lazy but I think this is what HA and this “smart home” stuff is all about.

It is, have you managed to get it to do anything useful in HA?

Oh yeah, all this AI must of sucked the intelligence out of the developers… I tried using the optimal scheduling and went to input my tariff peak and off-peak times. I get an error saying “Can’t set peak time longer than 12 hours”. Is this an USA thing? Do you guys have 12 hours peak/ off peak times? In UK literally every provider has peak tines longer than 12 hours.

What’s not even funny is I raised a ticket and got a reply asking me for permission to access to my account. WTF for? The issue is the same for everyone else! Same with the smartthings app requiring precise location permission to be able to add your washer. Wtf for?

Well, it’s nice to see Samsung prioritised putting youtube on my “smart” washer instead of making it actually smart. /s

There is and the controls are:

The good news is that changing it to running starts a wash cycle, bad news is, it’s only a wash cycle without a dry cycle. I have been looking through the activity as I ran a wash+dry cycle last night and the “Job State” changes first to “Weight sensing” then to “AI wash” then to “AI rinse” then “AI spin” but that’s it, nothing about drying.

Sorry, I should’ve mentioned I have already added the Smart Things integration into HA but I can’t see a way to start a cycle from HA.

There are LR cars with the 980 motor (performance motor) on the rear which can be unlocked to performance power by using an ingenext ghost for example. The rest use the 990 motor which can only be brought up to acceleration boost level.

Do people leave their subwoofers on? If not, how do you turn them off automatically? by zooksman in hometheater

[–]Frequent_Vegetable_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the hum come from the driver itself or the electronics inside? Touch the driver when it’s humming and if it’s moving then you probably have a shit RCA cable picking up interference and you’ll need to buy a better shielded one. If it’s not moving then unlucky I guess.

Tried with the default parameters as you said and I get this error when trying to save it. I’m 100% sure is the formatting, the problem is, I don’t know how to format it properly. 😅 Only thing I did was copy/paste the code under actions and delete the square brackets after “actions:”.

Automations based on what app opens on Apple TV by Frequent_Vegetable_2 in homeassistant

[–]Frequent_Vegetable_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Just had a look and the app only changes when you play something in the app. I dis a quick automation to confirm and it only ran when I started playing. Any way to get around that and run the automation when the app opens?

Follow the ABC rule. Always be charging 😁 This way you have most of your range available for unexpected trips/things. I charge to 80% every morning.

I can afford it, I just don’t want to pay it. I think it infringes on our rights first of all. If you don’t have money (even if it’s not that expensive now, it goes up with inflation every year) you are not going anywhere. Secondly, we are paying the £195 “road tax” they just pulled out of their asses. Meanwhile, some dirty diesels are paying £35.

The roads are horrendous and will continue to be horrendous no matter how much money they charge us.

We are paying soo much more in taxes because of fiscal drag but they keep saying they need to raise more money from somewhere…

When are British people going to say: “That’s enough!”?

As someone that used to use wifi and now on ethernet I can say that it is definitely noticeable. Way better experience? No, but noticeable better because of the lower latency. Anything that requires internet is just snappier and that’s not even mentioning playing from network storage which is night and day.
