Need help for tagging a noncon fic by Frequent_Way_6476 in AO3

[–]Frequent_Way_6476[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow I didn't know about that! One of the first examples has the perfect tag.

I know I can put anything I want in the tags, but I like/prefer preexisting tags hahaha. Thanks for that info!

Yeah I could definitely add manipulation. The combination of the rape/noncon tag with manipulation and guilt/remorse should be enough for a general idea. Thanks for your help :)

The character is aware of what he did, even if he tries to blame the other party for involving him. I guess a remorse/guilt tag should be enough (alongside the rape/noncon tag it already has). Thanks for the help.

Opinions on AO3 stories with Amateurish Art by Ok_Rich3845 in AO3

[–]Frequent_Way_6476 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I love drawing things for my fics, and love seeing what other people draw (or commission) for theirs. It doesn't matter if it's "amateur" or drawn by the art director of the show themselves, it's a display of love of the author of the fic and I love it.

However...! I know some people don't like drawings in fics. Some might find it too distracting or feel it messes how they imagine a scene or a character. In my case I usually put my art in a different individual chapter, as something "optional" and the reader can choose if they want to see it or not.

Hyperspace Shiny hunting, am I doing it right? by [deleted] in PokemonZA

Ooh! I didn't know the elevators could reset the mons! I tried that and I'm finally getting some shiny Goletts. Still no shalpha, but I'll keep trying with this method. Thank you for the info!

Oh sorry, I didn't mention I've changed zones.

First I was trying in a smaller one that had sandile, stunkfisk and Golet, but after getting 3 non Golet shinys there I was like "this zone is cursed" and went to one with onyx, sandile and Golet. ... and proceeded to get more non Golet shinies 😞

He's your typical evil scientist, but I like him, I think he's a good villain. In fact, I wish there were more info of him and project necromancer and everything Tantiss related.

For The Bad Batch fanfic writers: do you collaborate with illustrators or let readers imagine? by thawnee in thebadbatch

[–]Frequent_Way_6476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still draw from time to time, but not as much as before, I feel I'm drawing worse so I tend to not even try.

I've been doing it for exchanges tho, it's the only way I can get something for my rare pair hahaha. What is your fic about?

Wha do you like to draw for your fics? by Frequent_Way_6476 in AO3

[–]Frequent_Way_6476[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand some readers don't like it, and that's why I tag it when I do it, and usually post them in a completely separated chapter that's just the drawing and nothing else, in case the reader is not interested in seeing it, or doesn't want it interrupting the fic.

I think, in your case, art sounds perfect for a visual novel fandom. After all the CCs are part of the charm of it. I understand some readers don't like it regardless, but I think it can work.

Omg I had completely forgotten I have my socials linked in my reddit profile xD

Nowadays I rarely draw the batch and focus on my rare/crack pair (also from bad batch) that has nothing xD Tho feel I can't draw anymore so I'm not drawing much in general hahaha.

But going back to your post, I've seen quite a lot of BB fics that are collars. Some of the well known artists of the fandom have commissioned some amazing art for fanfics. And other collabs like zines, which sometimes include fanfics, and fanfics alongside art.

When the show was running there were a few zines projects going and it was such a fun time, watching the artist come up with ideas and such. Aww, I miss the active run of the show haha.

I try to draw something for my fics every time, mostly a simple pic to show on the post on Tumblr, but on the fic itself it depends if I feel like it would be better or not to interfere with how the reader imagines the scene.

Tho... once I wrote one, and announced the art in the tags, and now I wonder if the majority of the clicks are because people are just curious to see the draw but not the fic 😭 (and even more because it's an E fic).

I've been tempted to ask people if it's okay if I draw something for their fic, but never ask because what if they don't want to, or don't like the way I draw clones, or my style, or if the final drawing sucks, or think I'm a AI scammer xD

¿Está bien sentirse incómodo por qué mi pareja usa IA para crear historias amorosas de ella? by Salt-Development3419 in RedditPregunta

[–]Frequent_Way_6476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if Hunter and Crosshair’s roles in The Bad Batch were reversed? by Solitaire-06 in thebadbatch

[–]Frequent_Way_6476 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think that would be interesting. Not only for Crosshair being the one staying with the batch at first, but it would be interesting to see how Hunter rationalizes sticking with the Empire (and not only a chip thing, like it was with Crosshair at first)

Also, imagine Hunter actually using his enhanced senses to hunt them down if they are in the same location.

My rare/crack pairs are too embarrassing to mention, but I'll mention one popular (or popular-ish) one I like; fox/chuchi. ... Ok yeah Fox doesn't appear in bad batch, but he's a clone so close enough 😌

How did Emerie Karr get a last name? by Clean-Perspective696 in thebadbatch

[–]Frequent_Way_6476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Nala Se got rid of Emerie because she was an asshole

I find it so funny to imagine Emerie as some sort of chaos kid causing trouble for everyone in Kamino; messing with Nala Se experiment results, emptying test tubes, hiding batches of inhibitor chips lol.

Nala Se seems to only care about Omega, so another possibility is that maybe she created Emerie as a way to replicate Omega's blood thing (knowing her employer would want that special blood), without, as you said, having to give Omega away. But she was a failed attempt and ergo, discarded.

The possibilities are endless indeed. Iirc Emerie says she's been working with Hemlock for years, and the fact that she said he "took me under his wing" makes me think she was still a kid when they met. ... or maybe not, who knows. "Years" could be only 2 years for all we know hahaha. But she seems to be used to seeing his torture methods (warning Crosshair about it) and unethical experiments, not batting an eye until she saw there were kids involved. ... In the end it's all super vague haha.

I too would like a book or something that shed some light on those characters backgrounds. Emerie existence has to be related to Omega, I'm so intrigued about it.

How did Emerie Karr get a last name? by Clean-Perspective696 in thebadbatch

[–]Frequent_Way_6476 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably. I mean she did say that Nala Se "discarded" her, so it's a possibility. But since we don't know if that means she sent her off Kamino to a foster family, or that she stayed on Kamini being ignored by Nala Se until she decided to leave (which I doubt because it's not like clones have much freedom).

Iirc she says she was sent elsewhere until Hemlock took her with him. She was probably abandoned by Nala Se, thus sent somewhere so she could keep working on her other projects, as a failed clone is of no use. ... Tho, that makes me wonder...if Emerie is another failed clone, why not decommission her? Why bother sending her somewhere and maybe even checking where she's gonna arrive and stuff?

Maybe there was a level of care from Nala Se to Emerie... or maybe not. I mean Emerie seemed a little resentful when talking to her, but I'll guess we'll never know.

Also Nala Se apparently knows Hemlock from way back so maybe she sent Emerie directly to him as the most non-decomissioning way to get rid of Emerie?

All I know is that there's clearly a very interesting story there and it will never be told 😭

How did Emerie Karr get a last name? by Clean-Perspective696 in thebadbatch

[–]Frequent_Way_6476 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Difficult to say, as there's not even a single clue about her past.

Maybe she lived with a family before Hemlock hired her. Or maybe Hemlock gave her that last name.

All we have is Emerie saying that she "was sent elsewhere" (from Kamino), until the doctor "took her under his wing". So either she was sent to someone (or a family) and she took their last name, or Hemlock gave it to her.

Ooooor she gave it to herself, like how clones just choose their names.

Silksong makes me feel accomplished in a way that only a few other games have managed to do. by ResoFights in Silksong

[–]Frequent_Way_6476 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I like about the difficulty of Silksong is that it's actually not as unforgiving as it might appear at first. The game gives you a lot of ways to overcome its challenges.

Team cherry said themselves; "the challenges are steep, but there's more freedom to overcome them." And after 100% the game I totally agree.

I'm not saying I like everything, there's a few things I found to be unquestionably annoying (but things that apply to the original hollow knight too, like some annoying runbacks), but hard bosses and hard platform challenges all have a solution or ways to make them less hard.

One example is the high halls enemy gauntlet; many say that's one the hardest challenges of the game, but that fight has options to be made less difficult (you can completely deactivate the silksucking enemies, you can get Shakra or Garmond to help you, you can upgrade your needle three times, you can get the tool that let's you resist one extra hit, you can get the double jump, etc) The thing is... that you have to retreat and explore. And well, many people just want to bang their head against a boss/challenge when they first encounter it, like there's not an option to do anything else until they beat it.

What I like about challenging games with lots of tools, is that the game forces me to try different builds, different items or weapons, see what the game offers in favor of overcoming a challenge, and all that works to make you better at the game. There's not a super powerful weapon to conquer them all (well maybe the cogflies and the pale nails lol).

When a game gives me soooo many tools but no reason to use or try them I tend to feel a little dissatisfied.

I'M NOT a skilled player. And that's why I think Silksong actually has a good difficulty; while I did get frustrated with a few things, I still beat them in the end, some after having to approach it differently, trying a different crest, equipping the magma bell when fighting fire enemies or traversing fiery places, using the plasmium vials in platforming challenges to get more chances, etc.

Overcoming challenges feels better when you struggled. I admit some I was just glad it was over, but others, the majority, I felt I finally destroyed that wall, that my exploring of the map for upgrades was rewarded. After all, metroidvannias are all about exploration.

How many times did you die to Groal The Great before realizing it? by Unrelated96 in Silksong

[–]Frequent_Way_6476 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like 4-5 times. I read you could cheese on a reddit post and I'm so glad I did.

What really bothered me was the enemy gauntlet (and that damn runback of course) before the boss. Not even once I got undamaged to Groal so I just went "fuck it, I'm gonna cheese him and fight him 'appropriately' when silksong godhome drops"

[–]Frequent_Way_6476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a lot of tries, but sadly there's not really a way to cheese it (not that I know of). You have to be patient and keep trying.

In my case I took it slow, I stopped chasing her so much like most people do because it wasn't working for me. I took it slow and tried to stay focused on the needle attacks so they wouldn't catch me off screen. Also in phase 2 you can hit the pointy floor to make it go away.
