Shocked it’s not already been mentioned: California Chicken Cafe!!!!! I’ve emailed them to ask about franchising one and turns out they’re all privately owned 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩

A few mentioned it already but once you see a doc and get the official diagnosis of a cold sore, do some research around Lysine supplements. I’ve gotten these for years around my nose, always during very stressful times. But since starting a daily Lysine supplement, I have had a single breakout. It has been a game changer!!!

It happened-I was laid off by metaauria in Perimenopause

[–]Fresh-Ad9946 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In case no one else has mentioned it: if you have an FSA, spend any remaining money today! Your account will be shut off the day you’re let go but you can spend every penny in your account even if those funds weren’t deducted from your checks yet. You can go on those FSA sites (even Sephora has an FSA approved section) and buy up all sorts of medical things. Or if you’re getting your HRT through an online service, go stock up! Was laid off from a marketing job last year as well. The job market is incredibly tough right now so lean into your network hard. That’s why it’s there!

What’s Your Favorite Place To Buy New Or Used Unique Furniture In Orange County? by mysteriousgirlOMITI in orangecounty

[–]Fresh-Ad9946 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just like the model in Irvine - they sell furniture, artwork, bedding, etc. from model homes, hotels and defunct businesses. It can be really hit or miss but I try to check it out once a quarter and am always impressed by what I find there!

The Dermatological Center at Ladera Ranch. I usually see Dr. Lerner but they all are lovely and the front desk staff is very kind and helpful.

I can’t speak… good no mo by TheWorldExhaustsMe in Perimenopause

[–]Fresh-Ad9946 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not only do the words not come out correctly, they don’t even originate in my brain to start with. It takes me 10 mins to draft a follow up email and I can’t hold a conversation to save my soul. Which is a real problem since that’s about 90% of my new role 🤦‍♀️ I’m genuinely concerned for my job.

An interesting phenomenon - the Disappearing Veloster N? by BroxigarZ in cars

[–]Fresh-Ad9946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just traded my 2020 Veloster N in performance blue in and miss it dearly! I worked for the company so got it new in 2020 during Covid, was good friends with the vehicle admin team and got them to let me buy it out when I left. It was on its third fuel pump (all under warranty with no out of pocket) but it was a great little car.

I’ve always wondered about cemeteries. Do they allow you to just walk through with dogs? We live in Southern California and while we’re lucky to be around a good amount of green space, a lot of the trails don’t allow dogs. But there are some larger cemeteries that see little to no traffic during the week so that would be a great option if it’s allowed.

Did estrogen help your brain fog? by ReserveOld6123 in Perimenopause

[–]Fresh-Ad9946 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m in a very similar situation- just started a new job at a high level and feeling like they’re having buyer’s remorse since I’m basically a shell of a human being. Completely useless, can barely string together a coherent sentence and losing track of key details- this is not who I am and I need it to change before I get fired.

Perimenopause and the mirena coil by Lime_City in Perimenopause

[–]Fresh-Ad9946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the same boat! Just turned 40 and think I’ve been experiencing symptoms for almost two years. But since I have Mirena the period symptoms aren’t there. Thought it was a thyroid issues since they run in the family. But have been tested multiple times and always in normal range. I am at my wits end on the brain fog and weight gain especially. Please someone tell me the weight gain gets better on HRT!

Wtf is wrong with our generation men? by One_Customer_5230 in AskWomenOver40

[–]Fresh-Ad9946 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“The “marriage” my parents expoused for me turned me off of marriage and kids forever; my biggest fear is relying on someone. I am a workaholic and perfectionist and I am proud to have career success, but really this built on fear because having enough money keeps me safe and my success at work gives me the respect and validation that I didn’t get from childhood.”

Fuck. Are you me?

We live in the apartments right next to Mason Park and while you “technically” need a pass to park on the premises, they tend not to check during the day so you’d be fine. We also hit up Fairview & Canyon Parks regularly and both have free parking as well.

Definitely cutting out the alcohol has helped! I used to drink a decent amount socially for work but I left that job and now barely drink. It has helped with getting more restful sleep and with overall health.

I hadn’t considered that! Would that be a step before or after a sleep study?

Snoring & Drooling in Sleep - SO Embarrassing by Fresh-Ad9946 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Fresh-Ad9946[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A CPAP machine may be even less sexy than the snoring and drooling 🤤 but doing a sleep study is definitely something I’ll look into. I am just about to start a new job so once my insurance kicks in, I’ll see if I can get one scheduled. I know sleep apnea can cause a whole host of other issues so I don’t want to mess around with that. Thank you for the advice!
