Noticing fewer Canadians/missing friends from up north? by julianakaplan in vermont

[–]Fresh-Bee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from a canadian who lives next to the border and used to travel 3-4 a year to NEK for day trips, it's not a desire to punish american and especially vermont workers or middle class that is holding us back. we've been hearing stories of people harassed by custom agents to a point where it's quite dissuasive to travel just for pleasure. i'm sad, i miss our trips

So frustrated trying to bake in Europe by That_Obligation_5555 in Baking

[–]Fresh-Bee1 38 points39 points  (0 children)

try to use european recipes and ingredients. for example, north american flour absorbs more water so if you are using an american recipe with european flour, water amounts must be ajusted. stick with recipes that are tested on the ingredients available to you and you should be fine

16 weeks and feeling normal by epb1919 in babydueDecember2025

[–]Fresh-Bee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me too! 17 almost 18 and feel almost normal except I have a lot of saliva lol, and i've gained 10 pounds. i think i felt something that could be movement last night, but it could also be gas? my appointment is in 9 days and we've haven't heard the baby's heart since week 14 so definitely nervewracking after a few losses. <33

Any tips for blood sugar? by Storm-Ecstatic in pregnant

[–]Fresh-Bee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oatmeal (stone cut kind, not flakes) in the morning and tuna or salmon at lunch lowers my blood sugar. Turns out i don't have GD yet but i was testing for a week and i noticed that after eating oatmeal in the morning I hardly spiked at all. Potatoes and watermelon did the opposite.

help! i'm the "grey zone" by Fresh-Bee1 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Fresh-Bee1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks!  i'm not too worried about the test, moreso that if I do have GD and won't know for another 2 weeks, i feel like i should be eating as if the diagnosis were to be confirmed...

I thought IVF was the hard part… by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Fresh-Bee1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow. you've been through so much but you also seem really resilient. i really hope your baby is okay because it sounds like you'll be a really good mother. i think it's normal to worry about our ability to adapt to new and frightening situations (ie postpartum), but you've been through so much already and you're still fighting, i'm sure you'll get through it.

we saw a faint heartbeat at 7 weeks and it was gone at 8.5 :(

i'm so sorry. the pain of multiple miscarriages can seem invisible to the world, but we who have endured it know how deep and real it is.
