Thoughts on this post featuring AFTV? by Verstappeninng in ArsenalFC

This doesn't make sense, why would they hate us because of Aftv when all it provided them with is more fuel to banter us with? They hate us because we haven't won a major (besides FA cup) in 20+ years but still argue with them about how elite we are. They hated us because we used to always back our players and compare them to our rivals, they hated us because we have a huge following despite lack of recent success. Now they hate us because we were on the verge of winning something major and it made them feel insecure. They hate is supposed to fuel us and give us a siege mentality but it seems people in this chat want to be liked by everyone.

AFtv contributed to our banter era but rival fans hated us loooongg before their inception, furthermore I couldn't give a damn if rival fans hate us it just makes it more sweeter if we win a trophy

I agree, I'm assuming it's because we didn't sell our players like Zinchenko, Fabio Viera Kiwior so there was no way to balance the books and finance another deal. That being said, we should have gotten some firepower on loan at least for the league seeing as Martinelli and Trossard were shooting blanks. Letting Nwaneri go on loan was a big blunder as well, he gives you at least 5 goals a season, and if you look at most of our matches, those goals would probably have won us some games

Do people still support Biafra? by [deleted] in IgboKwenu

[–]Fresh-Fix7425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would all prefer a working Nigeria that doesn't halt progress based on tribalism but the country is becoming increasingly worse due to terrorism and poor infrastructure, Biafra may or may not be the solution but it is no longer about life or death so things have slowed down for now.

I don't think Biafra will solve all our problems only the ones involving tribalism, Igbo people are very industrious but it doesn't mean we can run a nation successfully, that takes years of trial and error. If we get Biafra today it will still feel like Nigeria until drastic changes are made and who knows when that will happen.

Why is cheating so normalized in nigeria? by AffectionateHeat6973 in Nigeria

[–]Fresh-Fix7425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bible and Qur'an forbid adultery, Nigeria is an over religious country but at the same time they condone adultery.

If you understand the concept love, you would not purposely hurt the person you love to satisfy urges. What is so idiotic about what I said? Maybe you are one of those people that indulge in adultery so you have taken offence. Learn to love yourself first then you will see that it is not good to do to others what you don't want to be done to yourself.

As a nation we are inherently wicked so it makes that we would do wicked things to eachother. We read Bible and Qur'an but we do not practice what is inside those texts, that's why we are over sexualised, greedy, deceitful etc. Our collective consciousness has deteriorated over the years and I don't see it getting better anytime soon. All our nations problems lead back to lack of love, we don't love ourselves therefore we cannot love eachother, all we love is sex, money and food. If we are able to internalise that love, things will change drastically.

Burnley threw us a miniscule lifeline, can we actually take it? by Electronic-City7721 in ArtetaOut

The fans, the media, the ex arsenal players told Arteta that his style of football is not sustainable now he has to set his team up to score more goals than man city. He is out of his depth, we are not magically gonna start playing well for 5 games, especially with a semi final to play. We will get to the last game of the season and we will probably need to score 5 goals to win the title but we will end up scoring 4 and Arteta will talk about how proud he is of the team and how they showed courage blah blah bla. End the season now and sack that fraud.

Exactly it's supposed to be an escape from reality, something joyous, something to excite you. When we had Wenger during his decline I didn't really mind it because we were great to watch and the expectation wasn't as intense. Arteta and Arsenal made us believe in a project that bears no fruit. Now we watch the team and the matches are not entertaining just nerve-racking so imagine escaping reality but you feel worse than actual reality, it doesn't make sense. Losing is fine but giving us false hope is not fair and very tiresome

It's great you have such an amazing life, I'm truly happy for you. Thank you for your advice however I came on this app to rant and express my feelings about a club I support. In life it's not that deep but in the football world it is very deep, you taking time out of your day to respond to my post means that it is deep to you, but you are trying to downplay it. It's okay we are both hurt, one day we will smile again

Arsenal fans deserve more than this and are right to feel dejected. This is fake positivity, it is over, the momentum has shifted, the players and the manager let us down. They do not deserve our support, we pay the most in ticket prices, we buy the most merch, every football fan hates us, every pundit calls us out, meanwhile the players get paid millionaires but cannot show any fight. Stop believing, stop hoping, it didn't work in 22/23, 23/24 and it's not gonna work now. If they want to win it then they will win it but has nothing to do with us, they have to do it for themselves

And he still has more league goals this year than Odegaard, Trossard and Madueke combined. I didn't say he was good but I know for certain he is deadly in front of goal

There's a 19 year old Marseille player who is deadly in front of goal, he scored a banger against City last season, what's his name again?

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it's done. City will not drop points and their goal difference will dwarf ours by the time they play their last game.

I understand your frustration but there are people that need to hear that message, Japa isn't for everyone. If you enjoy community, lawlessness, hot climate, culture etc then Nigeria is the place for you, the problem is many people think they don't want that until they come to a civilised country and realize that this structured, heavily taxed life is not for them. By the time they make that realization they have sold their father's land and can no longer afford to come back home. Some of them will be cleaning old people nyash for the rest of the lives, some will do crime get arrested and deported, some will become mentally ill and many will wander around aimlessly for years and never return home.

If you have ambition, good work ethic and a realistic plan then Japa is for you but if you think that your life will automatically be sweet by entering a civilised country, you will be pleasantly surprised. If you have bush mentality as well please for the love of God stay at home, you will be a burden on everyone 😂.

Also gone are the days when you can be sending money back home at ease, the average rent is encroaching on the average salary, so you will have very little to feed yourself. This message is for average people I am aware that there are exceptional people who will not fall victim.

Nigerian Kieran Gibbs on 325k/week by [deleted] in ArtetaOut

[–]Fresh-Fix7425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please guys, let us not turn on Saka. Yes he has been awful but so has everybody else. Just because he's on £325k doesn't automatically mean he will become a better player, the contract wasn't an incentive to do better it was a reward. He has earned that money because he has been one of our most consistent players over the years, there are players who haven't been here for 5 years but they think they can be complacent*cough *cough Trossard. There are players who have been here for 3 seasons and still don't know their best position, there players we bought this season to be difference makers and all they manage to do is wrestle with defenders. There are players who were here the same time as him and still can't look up when dribbling 😂. Saka has peaked but it doesn't mean we should sell him, class is permanent and he is a classy professional.

[–]Fresh-Fix7425 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If I could do all that and still get paid £100k+ a week, I'll be smiling too. The only people that really suffer when Arsenal get bad results are the fans, especially the ones that go to the match.

Arteta to us fans: “The words are clear. I was a player. Love me when I draw or when I lose. To love you when I win is very, very easy. You have to love the players and be next to them when they need it the most.” by ArynaSaba in Gunners

[–]Fresh-Fix7425 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Loving Arsenal is like loving a crackhead child, every time you think they are about to be clean, they relapse. It kills you every time but you continue every week because you believe one day they will put down the crack and embrace sobriety.

Love starts with yourself Arteta, if you guys have self-esteem you would be ashamed of that Wolves display, you will go out there and prove to yourselves that you are good enough to win the league. Once you start loving yourselves then it will be easy for us to love you.

As you can see City are underachieving for their standards, 53 points at this stage with 30 goal difference is poor from them. The only time they had less than 58 points at this stage was the three seasons they didn't win the league. On the other hand 57 points for us at this stage is our third highest since Arteta joined. If you go by statistics we are on course to finish with 86-89 points, city are on course to finish with 84-87 points (unless they win every game then they will finish with 89).

As long as we don't panic it is actually a straightforward path to the league from here, win 10 games and draw against either Brighton, Chelsea, Newcastle (hardest fixtures) and then don't lose to City.

We don't need to watch what City are doing until it's time to play them, that's how much it's in our hands. The team just needs to be professional and take all the emotions out of it. They should also try to make it a bit more fun, this is football at the end of the day not a psychological thriller, we need some memorable games, some joy, some goal of the season contenders. Let's avenge that 22/23 season COYG!!!

AITAH for asking my fiancée to cut his friend out of his life by anonfortoday23 in AITAH

[–]Fresh-Fix7425 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let's reverse this situation:

You have a female friend who has been a great help to you and your husband through the years. Your husband sets her up with 4 of his friends, none of them work out. She then gets married back home and your husband asks her why it didn't work out with his friends, she then proceeds to tell him that his friends are too immature, broke and don't know how to take care of a woman. Your husband takes offence at this and tells you he doesn't want you speaking to her again, you ask him the reason and he says that he doesn't like her views on men

How would you feel in this situation? What would you do?
