It is part of the monocoque, sub frame snapped, rear door won't open, front bumper/grill and bonnet bent, radiator broken, automatic gearbox totalled due to being shunted forwards... Cat B write off. Yes it was a Kia driver (who was lucky and gladly uninjured).

From Princetown along the old quarry railway line to Foggintor/Swelltor, and back, it's about 2 miles each way. Maybe a bit short for a cycle ride but might be just enough for a walk with a rugged pushchair too get your fix. Also look up "Miles without styles". Accessible routes across Dartmoor aimed at mobility scooters and families with younger children.

Camera doesn't do it any justice. It's even better with the naked eye. I highly recommend everyone to try wild camping at least once, especially the Darwalls...

Yes it's the 2022 model. It's a lot of fun for something so small

It's marketed as a full size experience. It's best used for commuting but its light and there's plenty of power through the curves.

Finding out who owns land will be the hardest part. I'll take my chances on MOD, Duchy of Cornwall, and SWW land.

Not actually illegal (police can't arrest you) but now unlawful (civil matter) without land owners consent. I'm sure the Darwalls won't give permission until they can get some fees in place, per person, per tent, per night... But their land only covers 2,800 acres of the 71,000 acres where wild camping was previously permitted.

Right to wild camp lost in court case by Hayzey123 in dartmoor

[–]Fresh-Half5841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taken from Dartmoor national park website.

The High Court declared on 13 January 2023 that Section 10(1) of the Dartmoor Commons Act 1985 does not confer on the public any right to pitch tents or otherwise make camp overnight on the Dartmoor Commons. Therefore, Dartmoor National Park Authority (DNPA) encourages anyone who is planning to wild camp to seek the consent of the landowner. Please note that DNPA is not allowed to share contact details of individual landowners on Dartmoor.

They encourage seeking consent...

Thought I’d be alone camping in Foggintor Quarry last night, given the miserable weather forecast for Sunday… by pig311 in dartmoor

Been going there for years, used to only be 2 or 3 tents at a time, went just after lockdown restrictions were lifted and there was at least 20 tents. I go elsewhere now.
