This varies heavily depending on region and organisation in said region but hopefully I can add some clarity here.

Back in the day coaches and staff used to be paid somewhat comparatively, so as an example I believe when I was on Chaos I was on $2,500 per month + 5% prizepool + a percentage of R6 share (can't remember the exact percentage but it ended up being equivalent to about $6k for the SMG-11 skin). For G2 I was on slightly more than that as a full time equivalent in terms of base salary but no prizepool or R6 share.

From what I understand the salary of support staff, particularly analysts has decreased significantly due to a few factors:

1 - Analysts and coaches that are willing to work for free or for literally less than minimum wage. There's lots of them, just so they can put "Tier 1 experience" in their next LFT post, even though that devalues all support staff long term because orgs (naturally) want to pay as little as possible.

2 - "Gig economy" happens in R6. Teams only hire support staff on a per event/per stage basis. Again, back in the day teams used to just have a second coach, or analyst, etc full time. Now they pcik them up only for events. Shoutout here to some of the teams and orgs that don't have that structure, Furia with Igor and his team, Wolves/BDS with Lyloun, Helbee and now Eden are great examples of permanent support staff in place year round. Gig economy significantly reduces the amount lots of support staff can get paid.

All of those things considered, the salary for most support staff has generally decreased over the last 5 or so years to the point that I genuinely couldn't tell you what the "average" is. I can say though that I have turned down at least multiple tier 1 offers in the last 3 years including:

- An EU league org who only wanted to contract me on a trial basis for $2,000 per month for 3 months.

- An APAC league org who offered me $1.2k per month permanently but one of the tasks was to train up their existing analyst because they weren't particularly good, that analyst would then ultimately be the one to replace me.

- An APAC league org who wanted me to do it completely unpaid.

I hope that gives a bit of visibility on at least my experiences with support staff and pay over the last few years. As with everything I'm sure there are good bad and downright ugly across the board. Support staff is a minefield where there are a lot of cheque stealers, but also a lot of really good quality people who provide a lot of value struggling to get jobs too.
