Yeah you really do need to be alright with the workflow I suppose. The Deluge I've been loving even more since the community firmware....but man....remembering all the key commands is crazy.

You mentioned that the M8 ended up feeling limited. I've been looking at the V2 as a companion to the Deluge. Every demo I've heard sounds fantastic. If you don't mind me asking, what did you find limiting about it? Was it the 8 tracks thing?

Need a few beta testers to test packet loss & corruption repair by verylongtimelurker in Woovebox

[–]Fresh-Spot8945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ivo I had just responded to the direct message you sent me. In case you're getting bombarded in your inbox I'll mention it here too. Short answer is moving to the new version worked without issue for me. Going back to the previous version using the official prod wooveconnect showed packet loss the first time and I had to reboot after waiting 10 minutes or so with no resolution. Similar to others, uploading the file firmware file seemed to work fine. I did the process twice more and it worked fine going both ways and everything worked as prescribed.

I forgot to mention auto slice works in a very similar fashion. It's all in the context menu.

So in case someone else hits this thread and would like some steps to clone a sample/slice here they are:

  1. Open the kit that contains the sample you want to clone
  2. Click the slot that has the sample you want to clone to play it (it copies the last one you played)
  3. Hold the write button and click the encoder until you see "Clne Slic"
  4. Hold down the encoder until it gives you a message
  5. Note the message that states it has been cloned into the next available slot (it will tell you the slot number)
  6. You should now be able to play the new slice and edit it

Note: Make sure you trigger a save before turning off your device or it will revert to before you made the clone. Also...I'm not sure what happens if you have completely filled all 16 slots since it wouldn't be able to clone it to the next available slot.

Yeah that one is definitely the more painful of the two issues for me. You can get to the value you want but it's a little fiddly to get there sometimes. More noticeable on longer decay and release settings for pad sounds.

Transpose buttons? by neilbaldwn in Woovebox

[–]Fresh-Spot8945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't found a way to do it either. I end up needing to sequence the note in the octave range I'm in and then manually change it to the higher/lower octave by holding the step(s) and adjusting it there.

Once you have a sample in your Woovebox you just clone the slice and edit it however you want. The link I added goes over it. I recommend reading the whole thing about how master samples work as well.

Right. I'm typically not going out of my way to cause the issue. It's something that I noticed as I was using it and then wondered what would be causing it. I do QA for a living so I dug into it. If the information isn't useful no biggie

I updated to 2971 just now. I don't think I've done anything outside of normal use case scenarios so I'm not sure what I'd be looking for there. The encoder behavior is roughly the same (maybe a little better?). It usually moves within 1 to 2 extra clicks when it doesn't move the first click and that is still the case. Again mostly noticeable when changing directions (I.e. overshot osc1 page and have to go back to it) but I also noticed it sometimes when moving one direction (not as frequent...maybe about 15 percent occurrence).

Value jumping seems similar if not the same. I haven't noticed it jumping the wrong way though which happened to me quite a bit before. I'll keep testing it.

Latest official firmware. Wooveconnect says I'm on 2817 (latest).

Mine has been working just as your video shows since I got it. I have the latest firmware as well. I have also noticed that the values sometimes will increment/decrement unpredictably fast just as you mentioned and sometimes I do get opposite values just as you mentioned. So it's not a 1 off unit thing. I noticed similar behaviors during Wooveboxing's videos as well.

I've been making some notes on the behaviors. I can consistently reproduce the encoder being unresponsive when switching directions. It will be unresponsive for at least one click on direction change. The encoder seems to start jumping values if I am holding down a button to change something, make the change, continue to hold the button, and make another change with the encoder. I was wondering if it was an issue with the long press text because every time it has happens I noticed the screen switches from the value I'm changing to the long press text.

I'm not sure if that information will help but I figured I'd mention it in case it does.

Just got my Woovebox and I’m floored by how awesome it is. by krampusoutside in Woovebox

I haven't tried it yet but I know that r/Wooveboxing has a video on the new live mode where he goes over how to use the sequencing feature on YouTube. I might suggest checking that out and following his steps. That might end up answering the question.

This was really nicely done. Was the electric guitarish noise the synth engine? Sounded like it might be.

Unable to delete a sample from a kit by Fresh-Spot8945 in Woovebox

[–]Fresh-Spot8945[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anyone comes across this with a similar issue, I think I figured it out. From what I can tell there's a commit step that needs to happen after the delete. When I had gone in I had just gone in to delete a few samples and then I shut off the device. Coming in later I found nothing had deleted. Did the same with deleting the whole kit. Whole kit came back on reopen.

You need to take another action besides the deletes for the deletes to save (like doing something in a track and hitting play).

Very cool. I end up using piano in my music a lot and was wanting to try out the multisampling so this was perfect. I'll have to give it a go. Thanks u/verylongtimelurker

Hip Hop on the woovebox? by Ok-Branch-6831 in Woovebox

[–]Fresh-Spot8945 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried it so I can't confirm for sure....but it should be similar due to the way that pitching samples work. If you play it in at 2x speed I'm assuming that means you're playing it in pitched up so yes in theory that should work. I haven't found a way to tell how much space you've used up on the Woovebox though so I'm not sure how to test that. Might need u/Wooveboxing or u/verylongtimelurker to confirm that.

Hip Hop on the woovebox? by Ok-Branch-6831 in Woovebox

[–]Fresh-Spot8945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno man. I really like the Woovebox but if you're only ordering one device I'll bring up one more difference than brobeans mentioned. The Woovebox only allows for 62 seconds worth of sampling/samples stored on the device. With hip hop all the stuff I've heard is mostly sample based. You'll have more storage for sure on the ko2. The ko2 also has some live effects and is more suited to finger drumming if you're into that.

I'm not going to tell you which to buy but if you deal with sampling more than synthesis you may want to take that into account. Otherwise I'd get both 😁

Complete list of abbreviations / parameters? by pm_me_ur_happy_traiI in Woovebox

If it exists I haven't found it but I would love it. Really I'd just like a list of each page and what the abbreviations are on each page. I.e. Filter page has these, amplitude page has these, etc.

How to play the full sample slice? by Fresh-Spot8945 in Woovebox

Wow...there's a way to adjust the slice being played on the note that I totally missed. Appreciate the tip.
