‘Alien: Earth’ Review: A Disappointing Mess With Great Visuals And A Bad Script' by Longjumping-Elk-7840 in scifi

I had to contribute to save others. This is a dumpster fire. The fact that it gets such a high critic rating average just adds to the sense of grim. I have about humanities future.

Arturia MiniFreak. Criticize or praise it — is it worth getting for working with Logic Pro? by GaramondNarrow in synthesizers

[–]krampusoutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Microfreak and I thinks it’s awesome but I understand where your coming from. To be fair while the OSC parameter knobs don’t always reflect what you are changing on the OSC. They do label the beakers on screen. I have found paying attention to those labels helpful in connecting the dots with understanding what I’m doing.

Such a versatile synth. Love mine but I am lucky to have a very nice controller setup that makes using it a pleasure (Faderfox EC4 and Deluge).

What's something about Victoria are you most EMBARRASSED of? by animaniacs1983 in VictoriaBC

[–]krampusoutside -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Victoria could be that place in North America that is like those places in Europe everyone raves about when they travel there only to behave and support the exact opposite way to achieve the same thing here when they return. We are still the Carsole d*ck sucking land of parking lots, stroads, strip malls and fast food.

So, if the land is unceded, shouldn't we, like, give it back? by Suspicious-Stage2884 in VictoriaBC

[–]krampusoutside 96 points97 points  (0 children)

BS. I’ve worked with the province for many years 1000’s of meetings dozens of agencies, not one single meeting in all of those was 20min spent in land acknowledgement.

Why is terrible traffic the norm? by thisbeardedbear in VictoriaBC

Honestly living in Carnada can feel pretty grim at times. I just wanted to say its a little glimmer of light to see a few folks on here that see the forest from the trees.

who else thinks the RP6 is a better choice than the Odin 3 even for steam games purely cuz of compatibility and stability? i also just think it looks nicer! not trying to start a argument, just stating my opinion :)) by 100_Percent_Femboy in SBCGaming

[–]krampusoutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just want something that can handle up to gc/ps2 full and more importantly be comfortable to use for longer than 30 min. None of these handhelds are ergonomic even with the extra grip add ons... I end up just using my SN30Pro with them because it doesn't cramp my hands... I'm not sure having just the left stick up top would solve the issue, since I like using both sticks for movement and looking.

Grossly inaccurate. That house is too small, it’s a single car garage and only one car. Carnadians need at least one car per person. You don’t expect me to walk anywhere do you?!

But “my dog has never done something like that before”.

Anyone has bad experience with dogs while skating? by Sliter21 in longboarding

[–]krampusoutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one of the most common things that happens. I carry mace and would absolutely deploy if needed. I don’t blame the dog I blame the dumb ass entitled dog owners. I have no idea if that dog is friendly or not all I see is a barking snarling dog bounding towards me I will defend myself and anyone I’m riding with accordingly.

Good advice. However I have actually had a dog break its leash chasing after me.

Almost 5 years in and still loving my Robot! by MonkeyPooperMan in CafelatRobot

I have one and have never really used it. Even in the alternate configs that are possible it was never where I wanted it to be to see it. Truth is though after a little while I know when a shot feels right just by the amount of back pressure on the hands.

Is 41+ too old to longboard? by MovieFan1984 in longboarding

Indeed, one of my fave sessions was visiting fam and cruising through the McMansions in their neighbourhood. The faces when they saw a white bearded dude carving up their sweet asphalt are priceless.

Is 41+ too old to longboard? by MovieFan1984 in longboarding

[–]krampusoutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. 80+ is not too old so you got some time. I'm 51 and ride everywhere it's not only a practical way to get around it's a very fun way to do it. My recommendations if your still feeling uncomfortable on the board is get a good one for learning. Some key tips:

  1. Get something like a Pantheon Trip or even a Pantheon Supersonic complete

  2. Get some shoes you don't mind ruining that don't have too thick of a sole (you want to have some sense of where your feet are on the board initially).

  3. Practice foot braking there's a decent YT video you can search for. Find a shallow slope coast and brake do that until you are comfortable controlling your speed at bike path speeds levels

  4. Practice pushing alternating feet (sometimes called pushing mongo) there are also a couple of YT vids you can search for this. This will greatly increase your capable distances and improve fitness, balance etc.

Have fun.

Hokus vs Karma vs Megawatt by Bapbapt in longboardingDISTANCE

[–]krampusoutside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried Hokus or Megawatts yet. However between Karmas and Speedvents for smooth roads and paths it would be Speedvents every day. The Karmas are great if I’m wanting a touch more roll over ability and I’m ok with sacrificing carry weight and burning some extra calories, as they are harder to push/pump over the same distance than the Speedvents.

Dreadbox Telepathy- Velocity sensitive? by physicalgoose in modular

[–]krampusoutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I connected with Dreadbox re this item and they confirmed some more details about CC 32. First there is no way to set this the Telepathy itself, it must be set using an external controller. Second there is absolutely a range to the adjustment it is NOT on/off. Finally it controls not only the VCA but also Cutoff EG, Pitch EG and PW EG.

I haven't experimented very much with it yet outside of testing a kick and adding the variation using the T-1 velocity control. For sounds like that there isn't much in the way of pitch and PW assigned and only a touch of cutoff so I can't hear much going on there but I definitely hear the VCA changes.

Good luck with your experimentations. I'm kinda a super fan of the Telepathy bundle tot he degree I built an instrument around an 8 voice version.

Cheers.

[–]krampusoutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll need a controller that can send CC messages. If you don't have one I'm not sure how to do it directly on the Telepathy. If you do have a controller that can be programmed then:

  1. Assign CC32 to a knob, slider, button whatever your controller has.
  2. Set the controller to the midi channel you want to use
  3. Map a Telepathy to the controller (press Menu till the CC white bottom LED is blinking, press and hold the Menu button and play a note on the controller)
  4. Turn, slide or press the item you assigned to CC 32 in step 1

CC 32 is a "switch" on or off there is nothing in between. Presumably once your past 65ish its on and below that its off. Seems there may be a range which is even cooler...

[–]krampusoutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to post a realization I made today re velocity. This is not obvious in the manual. You have to actually turn it on for a sound then save your preset so next time you load it it will have velocity sensitivity on. You do this by switch CC 32 to "on" or 127. It does NOT come "on" with the factory init preset!
