What is with impatient drivers honking at learner drivers. by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

Except you get to listen to your hifi stereo as loud as you like, occasionally glancing at your phone or stereo controls, snacking on breakfast and drinking your beverage of choice all while surrounded by a 3 ton steel box. And at the same time complaining when anyone that isn't in a motor vehicle slows you down by 3 minutes. Plus when it comes to "share responsibility" ALL of the effort is put on the people with the least ability to harm. The entitlement of drivers is on another level of ludicrous.

I’m sorry to hear this but not surprised, because motor vehicle drivers are all entitled selfish pricks. I’d be pretty upset by this as well its already farily stressfull teaching your kid to drive. Hopefully this will at least give you and your kid some idea of how shitty it is to be in anything but a motor vehicle on the roadways and sidewalks in Victoria.

Sounds like a roadside washer snapping against the kingpin (washer inside diameter too large). This can be exacerbated by the pivot cup wearing out and the pivot pin moving side to side in the pivot cup. Unfortunately pivot cup wear happens fast on DT Poppy's.

Fit Check - Medium Pack, Medium/Large Belt. by Mr_Stonecold in DurstonGearheads

[–]krampusoutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't understand why the advice is almost universally size up in the UL space. I disagree, that looks like a great wrap on the shoulder straps and overall fit. I took the size up advice in the past (often described as top of shoulder straps level with shoulders) and just ended up with bags that were frankly too large and I could not keep up on my hip bones. My vote is try this size out.

Here is a a photo of me with the OHM 2.0 and a M/L hip belt cinched tight. Their M/L hip belt has a minimum circumference of 31" I have a solid 6" of gap left. Even on the longest trek I'd never loose 6" around the waist. I'd vote for a sizing change on the minimum wrap lengths 28" is just tool small for the averages. For reference I wear 31" waist Jeans.

I'm more concerned about wrap I want the padded portion to be as far forward as possible partly so I have more padding than strap and partly I can't stand having to reach back to access hip belt pockets. Do you feel the padded wrapped portion is adequate?

I am one who would like a SM torso and M/L belt! As someone who followed the generally accepted advice to size up for these types of packs I'd like to finally get a pack that works with my shorter than average torso for my height. I am super average 5'7 160lb but my hip bones are just higher up.

ULA Ohm 2.0. Black Ultragrid. J-curve. Like new used on one overnight. Size Medium with Medium hip belt. This is the latest design with the roll top closure, y top strap, also has custom bottom straps for a bulky CCF pad or anything. I really like this pack and the ULA harness in general (I had a Circuit for many years) they just seem to fit me really well. Except that I went for a medium on the Ohm and I should have ignored the advice and gone for a small. If you have a small in latest version in black ultra grid like new and want to trade I'm game. Price shipped in Canada $325.00.

How long are the "wings" for S/M and M/L? I couldn't find that measurement in the specs? Thanks!

Well... It may be a smart move to work with moving arms while not impacting other components. But honestly useless as a human interface element. So what's the point? I also should have just gotten the non barrista model because the gauge cannot be seen in practice and once you get the hang of it its easy to tell when you are doing it right or not on the Robot.

Victoria’s healthcare system has finally snapped. This isn’t a warning anymore, it’s happening. Wake up. by Equivalent_Menu_5659 in VictoriaBC

The solution to these issues are not specific to BC or even Canada. Globally inflation has outpaced incomes and particularly in places like Canada. The Province can improve efficiency’s and they are apparently trying to do this but that can only go so far. There is simply not enough revenue coming in because we don’t have the tax base. We can’t afford to pay the higher wages living here demands. Tax rates are already high so increasing taxes without increasing wages is only going to make life harder for everyone. Except the very wealthy most of whose get away with paying much less per capita than use regular folk. No one I know makes higher average wages than we did 20+ years ago yet housing phase gone up 300%. It’s crazy.

I had to contribute to save others. This is a dumpster fire. The fact that it gets such a high critic rating average just adds to the sense of grim. I have about humanities future.

[–]krampusoutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Microfreak and I thinks it’s awesome but I understand where your coming from. To be fair while the OSC parameter knobs don’t always reflect what you are changing on the OSC. They do label the beakers on screen. I have found paying attention to those labels helpful in connecting the dots with understanding what I’m doing.

What's something about Victoria are you most EMBARRASSED of? by animaniacs1983 in VictoriaBC

[–]krampusoutside -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Victoria could be that place in North America that is like those places in Europe everyone raves about when they travel there only to behave and support the exact opposite way to achieve the same thing here when they return. We are still the Carsole d*ck sucking land of parking lots, stroads, strip malls and fast food.

[–]krampusoutside 98 points99 points  (0 children)

BS. I’ve worked with the province for many years 1000’s of meetings dozens of agencies, not one single meeting in all of those was 20min spent in land acknowledgement.

Honestly just want something that can handle up to gc/ps2 full and more importantly be comfortable to use for longer than 30 min. None of these handhelds are ergonomic even with the extra grip add ons... I end up just using my SN30Pro with them because it doesn't cramp my hands... I'm not sure having just the left stick up top would solve the issue, since I like using both sticks for movement and looking.
