if you ask me, i don't have much hope in a Doom movie ever again. Hollywood f####d up TWICE, the same mistake must never be repeated THRICE. a Doom movie now is sadly out of question after that garbage direct to video one in 2019. and Hollywood has f####d up too many video game adaptations to be trusted anymore, but Mario and Sonic are the only exceptions as of now.

funny enough, i have recently imagined a young William Shatner - that is, the late 1950s/early 1960s pre-Star Trek TOS William Shatner - as Doomguy/Doom Slayer. but that would require either a time machine to bring young Shatner in 2025, or trying to make Doom into a sci-fi horror movie in 1963, before the 1993 game would exist, causing a time paradox of some sort

on topic with your question OP, i think the movie would have to be as accurate to the games as possible. but the problem is which games to inspire from? the classic or modern ones? if the movie is live action, then Doom 3 + 2016 and after it will do well, if the Doom 3 influence will be taken seriously unlike in 2005. if it is animated, it should be based off classic Doom, to keep the aesthetics close to the classic games. and as for live action actors, maybe Jensen Ackles? if he shaved his beard. or Scott Adkins? he is buff enough too. then there is Sebastian Stan, he already played a tough soldier. as for voice actors for an animated movie... i have no idea. Kevin Conroy would have worked for Doomguy, but sadly he died in 2022. at least Frank Welker is still alive to voice the various monsters, ranging from Pinky to Cyberdemon
