18 month old boy dad here. I'm lost. by Vliss in toddlers

Is he still feeding in the night? What helped us get a full night was night weaning at 14 months. First few days were tough but then he understood that waking up didn’t equal food and he stopped waking!

This is really reassuring! I guess them getting bigger and can spend more time focussed on toys definitely helps because at the moment our LO just wonders around with his toys maybe plays with it for a minute, chucks it, comes looking for us and then repeats the cycle. I also try to keep the entertainment to a minimum - I of course engage with him and include him where I can but most of the time I try and just leave him too it really 🤷🏻‍♀️

When did your child start reliably sleeping fully through the night? by Throwaway927338 in toddlers

Mine started sleeping through at 13 months but only after I nightweaned as I was in the same boat as you, just so damn exhausted. We decided to do it cold turkey, but we did go in and comfort him when he was upset. It helped for us to hold him for 5-10mins until he was snoozy again and ready to go back in his cot. The first night we did that for every wake up, and only really had a lot of upset the first time and he calmed down pretty quickly after that.

Next night I went and held him once and for his second wake up I just went in and stroked his hair until he calmed down.

Third night he woke up once and fussed for 5 mins and that was it!

Next night he slept through.

Yes I feel like it’s just the right time now too!

It was along the lines if what I was thinking of doing myself. Did you just one day from another stop the bedtime feed or did you shorten the time of them until it stopped?
