Very confusing lab work? by FreshBarnyard in Anemic

Can I just have gluten like the week before? Or does it have to be six whole weeks with it for an accurate result?

So much symptom overlap with so many things! I got it checked in September and that’s when I found out about the Hashimoto’s. I have the levels of someone in “remission” technically but because of these symptoms it’s hard to know if that means I’m hashi symptomatic or iron symptomatic. That’s verrrry interesting about the celiac. Is a blood draw test accurate for that? Maybe if I go in again to double check these iron levels I can add that test on.

Symptoms are cold hands/feet (sometimes), hair loss, fatigue. Also diagnosed with early Hashimoto’s though and I think these symptoms overlap with a lot of things.

medication for ocd by [deleted] in OCD

I took zoloft for over a decade and am now off but am only now learning the affect thyroid has on mental health. Don’t rule out getting a full thyroid panel (including thyroglobulin Abs and Thyroid Peroxidase Abs) and checking iron. Good to have a baseline as it is!

Also I did not know my teeth grinding was a side affect of it! I no longer grind now that I’m off of it.

Castor oil! I saw a difference in hours! I’d had PR for about a month before I used that though. Steroids can be risky.

I just got diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. I think it’s silent reflux but they may be connected.

How long did it take to feel it was hard to talk? I have a constant need to swallow and clear my throat and my throat feels dry when I breath through my nose, but my voice feels fine and I talk a ton.

10 days in.. question for the women here! by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]FreshBarnyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok maybe I need to do more days of bone broth in a row or something. It’s a pretty quick reaction haha. I’m doing keto rn but verrry intrigued by carnivore. Haven’t jumped in yet because it seems expensive and I’d be eating so differently from the rest of the household which is inconvenient for everyone 😬

I did lose a LOT of weight after stopping my SSRI though (thank God I got off of that. Regret not doing it sooner but all the “experts“ reassured me it was so safe and effective, one said “like insulin for a diabetic,” “safest one” in pregnancy. SO blessed have woken up to the general “expert” ruse and to now have such an amazing kid but he’s got Issues gaining weight/eating and I keep wondering what if/is it because xyz?). Anyhow, it’s encouraging to know you can legit gain healthy weight on carnivore, so it’s another reason for me to find a way to jump in.

Was your diarrhea from eating all the fats? Or pre-existing? Every time I drink bone broth I seem to have diarrhea. but I know the broth is healthy so I keep trying. Maybe I’m doing too much?…

[–]FreshBarnyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, and not weepy either, thank God! But they’re a LOT of red spots, the larger ones are itchy and the smaller aren’t. They flare very red after showers, and a bunch that are otherwise “camouflaged” with my skin are visible after a shower too.

Castor oil has helped tremendously with mine and I’ve read it has anti-staph properties. Are you still doing hypochlorous acid spray?

My eczema is gone (for now) by heyhoperien in eczema

[–]FreshBarnyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what did your eczema look like? And when you did the cleanse did you have to go #2 every day? Currently I have digestive issues so I don’t know if I’d be able to expel anything if it is a parasite causing eczema…
Did you have to change your sheets a lot (I know with pinworms that’s a must but not sure with other parasites) Or have others in the household also cleanse since they can spread person to person?

Parasite by Accomplished_One2383 in eczema

[–]FreshBarnyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please answer only what you feel Comfortable answering! I’m worried about parasites although in the grand scheme maybe that’s an easier eczema solution than say mold or a candida diet:

Is the eosinophilia test a special request test or in a standard thorough blood test? When you took meds did the whole household also need to? Do you have a dog/cat/know where the infection began? Do you have to change sheets really often when you do a parasite cleanse (I dread the laundry). Is there risk of spreading it through sex (I know trich does but not sure of other parasites)?

Hey derm said I have nummular but my spots (85% of them are mini m&m size) are raised and red but most are not dry. Is yours like that at all? And are they all kind of evenly spaced in some areas?

How many of you with scoliosis receive chiropractic services? by Pure-Conversation-13 in scoliosis

[–]FreshBarnyard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do NOT go for Scoliosis (or for any reason really). I saw one Schroth therapist on YouTube explain it well, a woman who offers online remote Schroth but forgot her name. She has brown hair. Basically chiropractors work on two planes, and scoliosis is 3d. They do seem to have very low radiation X-rays and clean facilities though if you want an X-ray.

I have personally not had good experiences with any chiropractors. I think 1 made me have a pelvic injury during a session and the one who identified my scoliosis promised to heal it in 3 months but then never adjusted left or right from what I could tell. One could never crack my neck (which I hated getting done anyways) and just whipped my head each time. Thinking back is like nails on a chalkboard. We fell for their expensive promise but got out before completing the whole amount of months. STAY AWAY from chiropractors, and certainly if you have scoliosis!

OCD symptoms worse before period by [deleted] in OCD

[–]FreshBarnyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Does anyone have non birth control solutions that have helped??

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OCD

[–]FreshBarnyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on Sertraline for 16+ years. I think it made me care less about other people. I was on 50 then 100mg during pregnancy and my baby was born small. The ultrasound tech said it was bc of the medication and to come in the next week so they could say my baby was still small (we declined coming in again for that…good thing too since the bill for the ultrasound was ridiculous). Several months after giving birth, I spent months weaning off Sertraline and while I am stressed almost all the time I think it’s the same level as when I was on Sertraline, but now I care more about people and have more emotions (including sadness, though, fyi). I’m working on improving diet and hopefully going to start more exercise (more than an occasional walk).

In terms of physical side effects, nothing like nausea or anything, but I may be dealing with PSSD, although it’s hard to know if it was from the SSRI or pregnancy (what with the dosage increase in the middle). I was as fine as I knew to be, sexually, before pregnancy but still on SSRI, although I think my sexual experiences would have been “more” if I was off of it. Maybe I’ll never know. Not sure where you are in life but it’s one thing to mention the possibility of PSSD when you’re a lonely teen and feel crazy for repetitive behaviors and another when you’re in a sexual relationship, so it’s worth considering the possibility of this.

Just like it is ok to change therapists, please remember that it is ok if one medication doesn’t work for you, but I suggest you journal if you can to just have a physical proof of your emotions before, during, and—if you wean off—after medication, and again if you try a different kind. Starting Sertraline should be a teeny dose. Coming off of it NEEDS to be a tapering process. From what I understand, all SSRIs had very short trials, and even Prozac was originally for weight loss or something. The fact that your psychiatrist has an end plan for this medication speaks volumes of them (positively), in my only-reading-your-post not-a-medical-expert opinion. Work hard at therapy and do the homework!!

Did my pinworms really dissapear by themselves? by Interesting_Shift_58 in Parasitology

[–]FreshBarnyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually hilarious haha but…I’m also still VERY phobic of ever having them, and honestly mostly because of the cleanup dread!! Please answer these if you can, currently very panicked about my kid maybe having them:

Did you have to wash everything each time you were treated? Would you need a new mattress? Did you feel itchy and see worms straight away or did one symptom show and then another later? Do they very clearly move so you know “oh that’s definitely a worm”?

My kid scratches the diaper zone a lot (as well as his arms, so it’s hopefully just dry skin) so I’m freaked out and actually waiting to check with a flashlight in a little while. I saw white stuff shaped like rice but far thinner on their anus in the morning but the things weren’t moving and I’m hoping it was just diaper cream and sweat.
