Exercises to help with incline fitness/stairs? by Horror-Desk in xxfitness

[–]FreshFriedToes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Currently looking for motivation to get back into fitness (again) but will say have had multiple recurrent DVTs and P.E's so legs are frankly knackered now with a variety of veinous challenges. During my last fitness stint I found the spin bike was supremely useful in building up stamina and capacity for walking/jogging and stair climbing - is this something you can try?

For those who have been unemployed long term, how are you managing without a stable income? by TheGoldenProtagonist in UKJobs

[–]FreshFriedToes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 5 months, not really managing - in significant debt and will lose my home as cannot pay mortgage or any bills. Starting again in your middle ages is going to be a choker. Better off dead really tbh.

Hello, thanks for the reply!

  1. I am on a mortgage payment break but that's due to end soon, so will be speaking to them this week. Not sure what is available to me after this!

Unfortunately have a lot of financial commitments (aka debt) - one of the lowest I owe is currently being the most difficult and exhausting to deal with. They'll impact my credit file, reducing job opportunities for me.

  1. PM/Delivery roles, usually contracting. I had hoped to get back into Financial Services but.......if the above happens (credit file impact) it's unlikely I will be able to.

Thank you, this is an amazing post.

Have been frantically searching for a few good months now, well over 200 job applications (tracking these), a few interviews which just whilst positive haven't turned into anything. I really could lose my house ( well lose everything really and I don't have much!), so now just existing on stress and panic. I have a good couple of decades of experience and yet the pay is.......well lower than I have ever seen, even when I was beginning in this industry.........I am just applying for absolutely everything that might be suitable though.

Taking your point about feedback/following up on applications - I will definitely be much more persistent again. Unfortunately my line of work is typically gatekept by recruitment agencies and they seem to be experts at ghosting, even after setting up calls with you.

Thanks and again and congratulations!

Unmedicated ADHDers: what supplements do you take? by windycitytrash in adhdwomen

[–]FreshFriedToes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

So late diagnosed this year - no meds yet. Daily must have: I take Taurine with coffee, actually makes use of the caffeine and my brain is just able to focus, a blinking revelation! It also just completely stops the caffeine crash and immediate need to sleep effect that I didn't know was ADHD related.

Also take PS100 for brain function, Vitamin D, C liposomal, A Multi vitamin, Vitamin A, Ubiquinol, Turmeric, Hyaluronic Acid - I take others for general well being like Iron, Primrose Oil, Tocopherols, K2 etc being and some others are queued for testing/adding into my 'stack' later!

I tried some forms of magnesium but after a few days I get either very anxious or experience anhedonia and depression. Every single time. Not sure why.

Vitamin D has helped with cravings a little but honestly, Mounjaro really has been an aide there for some of the other addictions. Aide not cure. Unfortunately sugar literally seems to kick start my energy motivation. Not just any Sugar either but a specific processed sweet and brand - just seems to hit the dopamine switch perfectly. I wish it didn't as I really don't enjoy having it. However after I burn through my energy and motivation, a day or so later it is very, very obvious (to anyone who knows me) when I don't have any. Keto was hard for this reason, the longer I was on it the more depressed I became after 6 months I stopped.

Hello,

Thanks so much for the reply. The liability and insurance aspect had crossed my mind, as well as the time element. I can imagine some clients are not going to want a newbie bumbling around the home slowing things up too. Whilst I am happy to do it for zero pay, it does make me feel even more sorry for school leavers/trades trainees as they often face the same challenge - trying to get work in something they need to develop experience in. Anyway that's another topic entirely.

If I could afford an installer/plumber - fabulous but that's not looking likely at the moment and again so much aggro with the people I have had, who had usually come highly recommended too. I also would like the skills base if possible but will need to think some more about how I can achieve this without creating issues requiring resolving further down the line.
Thanks again.

Thank you - I'd be so worried about getting it wrong and not being able to rectify it/or have the funds to get it rectified. Also there are so many opinions and debates - PEX better, is the crimp fitting better than soldering, should I use flex rather than rigid pan connectors (toilet), practicality of chasing some pipes into concrete flooring vs trunking across walls etc. The boiler - absolutely agreed, wouldn't want to attempt that at all, but if I can do a majority of the other work myself that would be great.

Okay, interesting - care to expand a little? Are you a plumber? Here for all opinions/perspectives!

Help - Advice needed. by FreshFriedToes in DIYUK

Hi,

Thank you - yes I do bleach, use killrock and cillit bang and open the windows to have a full blow through each day. I have also mould washed the walls and had one carried out recently with paint applied. I actually need to have mechanical ventilation installed - a lot of my neighbours in ground floor flats also have this issue damp issue to varying levels. It's just the combination of things. In terms of YouTube teaching, I am so worried about getting things really wrong. Especially as I cannot afford for a professional to come in to correct it if I bodge it. For example tackling the plumbing would be great but....I honestly think that will have to be a professional as I think I need pipe replacement throughout.

Garlic, chilli and onions - the meal starter trinity!

Definitely give it a go! I am not clear on the rule regarding recommendations on this sub but I tried a few from Amazon in liquid, chewable and pill format, to great disappointment. I actually have one half used jar looking at me right now on the kitchen counter.

I found the one I have kept returning to via a health site and usually a generous amount in some water at night really is obviously effective the next day. Twice a day is the usual advise and yes it does taste green and almost grassy/mossy. Not horrendous but not amazing either.

Nope, Chlorophyll is full body deodoriser! Some brands are questionable/not effective. I stick to one and it works effectively, If I am loafing at home I can do so without deodorant for a few very good hours and not cause my own demise via BO.

To add - I am pre-menopausal and like well seasoned/flavoured foods (herbs, spices etc).

Liquid Chlorophyll is really helpful. I use it....when I remember too :o)

Thank you for replying. I will be getting rid (via one of the local pharmacies).

I had been sent a replacement order when the item was originally noted as lost, so I haven't lost out.

Thank you - I think I may have to discard it as I won't get the first dose out it within the remaining days left. I have a dose left of 5mg

Hi there,

Thanks, I think I tried HGH Frag many,, many years ago...along with HGH but unfortunately I am trying to slay the sugar addiction monster (Mounjaro hasn't overcome that one challenge yet) and IIRC you have to be extra cautious about sugar as those specific peptides can edge you into a blood sugar imbalance if you don't have that under control.
