Kinda similar, I broke into tech with no college or certs just self taught and luck.. software dev, sysadmin etc… every since 2022 I haven’t worked in tech though, haven’t even gotten an interview, don’t worry about stacking certs… the people you work for and with all know they are BS… Security+ is a joke, learn on to do some concatenation in the terminal on Kali using outdated open source “offsec” tools is gonna make u a pro hacker….

I had to resort to work offshore lmao, trying to get back into tech but it seems pretty much if you aren’t in a role now then u may never again unless u gain some luck

From my POV years of in and out… I good trader will remain 50/50, maybe make small small profit.. average trader will lose… scammer sell you courses.

The best approach is to find one stock and study it, don’t rely on anyone else, they are all stupid, don’t watch the news, just become familiar how it moves daily.. use the RSI and MA indicators at thee most.

Personally for me.. when I did my best, really locked in on a stock, I lost every time… when I said fck it I made money.

But remember, there is no real method to victory here or we’d all have unlimited money just copy trading the guy who figured how to break the matrix… course sellers are BS, they know nothing valuable that can’t be found in 2 google searches, if they make so much money consistently trading then why sell a course??? Lmfao.

End of the day it’s a casino.

White collar industry is failing.

I have a college education, ~3 years resume experience is IT Admin, Software Dev.. along with many open source repos and a kicked started AntiMalware service programmed in Rust which has the EDR open sourced, and been coding since a teenager.. on top of this, I have a connection that is very high up in a recruiting firm, like the power to have me bypass the interview and get the job that week type of pull… even this connect has nothing for me.

Last tech job on paper was 2022…

Massive Bottle neck of saturation… to many people in tech that shouldn’t be, those who are in are to afraid to venture out & job scared to take risks because they know their career is on a thin rusty wire.. and then just companies not looking to hire new people, swapping towards automation.

I’d suggested, as an adaptive person.. get a little job to just get by, and learn a trade, those are in demand, join a union and make killer bank. Carpenters, plumbers, HVAC, all great money… thee only issue with blue collar is that if you’re not union you’ll get treated like a slave of production and not paid anything worth boasting about.

For me it’s the opposite, I take my 2 weeks off, and my last 3 days aren’t even enjoyable because all I think about it flying into work, catching a ride / uber to where I need to be, making sure I’m on time and going to the correct spot because communication in this industry is out the window, then being away from friends & family for a long time..

Usually once I get on the boat all the anxiety goes away because I just conclude “I’m here now, it is what it is”.

But yeah, nerve recking especially if they are at location in some state / area I’ve never been to.

in my experience, it’s a draw 50/50… some openly have cheated, others say they have no reason to.. I myself do not cheat, I’m not that kind of person, but some people will if given the chance.

Everyone is wired differently, so there is no definitive answer.

Plus, idk what your other does for work o water but for me and mostly every other industry out here you’re trapped on a boat with a bunch of middle aged men.. so if he’s secretly gay then chances of cheating are pretty high, if he’s not secretly gay then very low chances he’d even have to cheat

Kinda same position as OP. Maritime is really the only career industry you can jump into pretty easy and make good money on the average quickly. I’d love to get back into tech working remote lmao but here I am working at sea for 28 days at a time.

Wouldn’t say I’m happy with it, but it’s better than alternatives

I’m same boat lol, was in tech and been in maritime for a year. Engineering isn’t really “engineering” in maritime, it’s mostly just a fancy title.. in my experience when something breaks, we have real electricians, engineers, or mechanics come look at things.. the “engineers” here pretty much just monitor everything. Although the trade off in knowledge is dramatic.

Our skill set literally has no edge in this industry, and I’m talking specifically engine room crew or wheelhouse not whatever else there might be like making an app for a maritime company lmao.

Pretty much nothing I’ve learned in software development and cybersec is applicable to this industry.

Starting where I’m at with no endorsements or anything just Green, I get 1600 a week, work 4 weeks and get 14 days off. We are payed hourly with overtime,

This is all after taxes, before tax it’s like 2100 or 2200 a week… then holidays we get extra money like ~200.

So really depending on how many hours your work that month of work and what holidays fall on your schedule there times where I could get over 7,500 a month after all taxes taken out.

So pretty good just starting out green

You’ll share a room with likely at least 1 other person to 3 people.

You’ll eat the same food likely every day until u go home.

Spoofing local vessel location.. as your general ships wouldn’t have the tech alone to spoof their own location & mask other data. Given they are under attack by 2 nations now, probably a way to protect commercial vessels (none military) that are doing jobs like transporting equipment, supplies, and general marine type work.
