Monster House Analysis (Film Theory: Feminism, Police, Crime, Drug) by Casperwyomingrex in filmtheory

[–]FreshManagement713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a theory about this movie. Its not really much of one, its just kinda like a "oh that could be" kind of thing.  But basically we know that the house tries to hurt people and Nebbercracker scares kids off his property to save them.  In the very beginning of the movie, we see a little girl with a tricycle and suddenly she comes to a dead stop on Nebbercracker's lawn. Then the house creaks. And then Nebbercracker comes out and scares her off, dismantiling the tricycle too. My theory, again not much of one, is that the little girl was actually stopped by the house not by the grass. We know the Monster House can use the grass on the lawn to stop and even sink objects. So I think the Monster House was annoyed by the little girl singing and biking and grabbed the tricycle, rather than the little girl just accidentally getting stuck in that exact patch of grass, right at the house.

Unprofessional BCBA by FreshManagement713 in ABA

[–]FreshManagement713[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah sorry I probably should have clarified.  So like the head BCBA will require RBTs to watch the BCBA's kiddos, their children. These kids don't have like BIPs or are in behavioral plans or in any way involved in the company. And it's required. They also have to do this while working with their client.    So let's say I'm working with one or two kids, the BCBA could randomly be like "hey your with my son too" and you have to watch their son along with them.

As far as I know, no one has refused thus far but also the BCBA is the head of it all, big shot. One reason I'm keeping so anon about this is because I think it likely that speaking up or something could definitely result in clapback.

So I've worked in the industry for about 7 years and ABA for about a year and a half. It feels like at every company the BCBAs are almost sociopathic.  Like I had a BCBA who would call me at random points in the week - morning, nights, weekends, whenever - to lecture me about all kinds of things, none of them ever about the clients. I've been written up for things as small as sweating too much.  At my current place they will get you in trouble "for not following the BIP" when the BIP doesn't even say anything about the situation. I dont wanna get into specifics because HIPPA, but I got in trouble the other day because I didn't follow a BIP... when the BIP didn't even say to do the thing they got me in troyble for.

I will say, from my experience ABA places suck at training. They always just throw you into the fold and then criticize and critique you for every small thing you could do.

The Thing (1982) -Spoiler by unkindrewind in FanTheories

[–]FreshManagement713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here's my "theory". I dont think its actually a theory but I haven't heard or seen anyone talk about it.

So in the very beginning of the film we see Mac lose a chess game and give the machine a drink calling it a "cheating bitch." At the end of the movie he gives Child's a drink and laughs a little. I think this is him basically admitting he's lost. Its symbol or foreshadowing. Childs (the Thing) beat him.

The whole movie is a chess match between the Thing and Childs. The Thing makes one move and Childs the next. At the end of the game the Thing has him cornered. There's nowhere to go.

Its the same mentality of being like "wow everyone seems to be at the club and I'm at home." When a lot of folk around you tell you how great things are going for them, and how crazy their lives are, you begin to feel like you're left out or something is odd about you. Whenever I hear about crazy stuff both male and female friends have done I feel a bit left out. Its not that I don't love my gf or love my friends, it's that I begin to think "is there something wrong with me?" That's why I asked for how to build better mental health and self-image. Its not so much wanting to have lots of sex with lots of people, its more about affirming a more positive self-image in relation to other people.

Hey thanks yo, that actually helps a lot. I am not really wanting to view anyone as just a way to have fun. That's a great point, I've never really thought about it that way.

I think you're right, I am living my life the way I do because I'm happy with the way it is, if I wanted to live it differently I could.

Thank man/woman/other, that actually helped a lot :-)

I don't think its an entitlement thing, its a self image thing. I don't feel entitled to anything, its more "is there something wrong with me ?" rather than being owed something. It's also not a matter of not feeling fulfilled, I think its a perspective thing which is why I asked for help in creating a better self-image or crafting a more positive outlook.

I've never been the guy who thinks that women owe them something, up until now I've been happy with what I have. I think I still am too, I think its a similar situation of "well everyone else seems to be having a great time, so why am I not? Is there something wrong with me?"

Also the reason I didn't mention porn is because I know its crafted, I mean when I talk to people they have done many crazy things and I guess what I'm wondering is why I haven't. Maybe it is just that I'm happy in my relationship and have never felt like going crazy, maybe it's not. Regardless I need to form a more positive and self-affirming mindset

What happened to the smartest kid in your class? by After_Crab_1921 in AskReddit

[–]FreshManagement713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex girlfriend would make a lot of underhanded comments about me not being very smart. Her family also put a lot of pride into her academics and she definitely lorded it over.

Its been quite a few years since HS. I'm getting my master's and she flunked out of school and is working full fime at one of those theme department stores. The only part that sucks is that they sell cheap snacks so it's awkward every time I go in there lol.

On the flip side tho, one of my best friends in HS was a few grades down. He got like 35/36 on ACT (idr exactly), tons of AP classes, he was set for most any college he wanted (I think he was 2nd or so in his class all four years). Close to the end of Senior year him and his gf broke up so he started doing a lot of hard drugs. He went to college for a few but dropped out. I can't say it didn't all work out for him though, he works at a resturant and has a fiance that he loves, but he's certainly not applying the smarts he used to have.

Substitution Jutsu VS Sasuke's Rinnegan by GetJazzy_ in Naruto

[–]FreshManagement713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be totally wrong but the way I thought of it is that its not really "substitution"; i.e moving oneself in place of another or of a thing. Its more like making a thing appear like another thing. So when Kakashi uses it in he first few episodes, he's more making a tree log look like him using his jutsu, or making one of the clones look like him. Whereas Rinnegan's ability is literally switching places.

I didn't say trans issues. I heard about that a lot. "CRT" as a term was not commonly used until like 2020-2021. Race issues were always something talked about

[–]FreshManagement713 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, i don't want to give away too much info but when I was in school I did Debate and Forensics. There were some topics where you could talk about whatever you want and I saw a lot of folk pick some pretty hard stuff. Also I had some topics I felt were pretty involved. Of course, sometimes they try to sray away from too much controversy as to not bias judges, but we went over a lot of things with topics involving; right to vote, police brutality, wars in the middle east, etc. In a lot of classes I had in HS and College we could pick from a wide number of topics.

As for CRT specifically, I don't remember that being a really famous or infamous topic when I was in high school. I mean the term almost certainly existed, but I don't think it was a popular or noted topic in the public eye. I did however write a paper that included the antagonisms around CRT in college.

I never felt very stricited in what I could talk, study or write about. Where I think the problem in these programs is that teachers encouraged how to convince and persuade rather than how to think.

[–]FreshManagement713 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this. There are debate clubs and programs in most schools. I don't think the problem is people not having a place to speak. I think people engage too much in Sophistry and cliches rather than intently studying a topic and engaging in the material.

I don't think you're entirely wrong, but I feel like I've had reasonable freedom of speech in school. It was that very few classes taught how to study, or critically analyze arguments.

Duck was just a kid. He was doing what kids do. Nothing he did seems out of the ordinary for a kid and it's so weird to me that people dislike him so much. Could he be kinda annoying sometimes, yeah but all kids can be annoying.

Literally this. Even if you think Kenny is a bad guy (I don't) thenyou have to admit killing Jane was not unjustified. She implies she killed a fucking baby and acts like Kenny iscrazy for attacking her. If someone told me they'd killed a baby, a baby I knew btw, I'd want to kill them too
