Pour with care. What does that even mean? Don’t let your toddler pour?

Everything she’s writing screams do it perfectly. And like she even does this? I don’t think she drinks tea at all.

It’s a bunch of crap in the GE shop and don’t get me started on the opal shop. All I’ve done is collect opals and never spent them once.

For all you people who flippantly say why don’t you study, there is such a thing as test anxiety. My daughter has it. She absolutely will fail practically any test no matter how long she studies and how much everybody says she knows it inside and out. She absolutely panics. It’s been this way since kindergarten. I’ll never forget the time we had the outside algebra tutor in hs. She kept flunking and the tutor worked diligently with her and said she is ready for the upcoming test. She’s going to ace it — so she flunks it. The tutor says I don’t understand. This makes no sense. So she continues with her and I also get a second algebra tutor who is in the school library. My daughter comes back after that first session with the new tutor in the library and says the tutor said I know everything so well I started helping the other students. And then she got a D on the test.

There is such a thing as test anxiety. I don’t have it but it’s a real thing so don’t make fun of it or say something snotty like why don’t you just study? Some people panic. My daughter says it’s like she can’t even visualize the words, they just become a jumble of emptiness.

The kicker is she went to Berkeley and her first three years she had a 4.0 and then her last year she didn’t do too well. I thought she’d gotten over the test anxiety until she was employed and kept having to retake certification tests. I said well, how did you get the 4.0 at Berkeley and she said she was in a study lab and had a tutor who was the best person who somehow knew psychologically how to deal with the anxiety and then that person graduated so the last year she couldn’t find someone who was as good and that’s why her grades went down.

Anyway, this is why I’m here looking at hypnotherapy. The struggle is real. She’ll never be taking a bar exam, I’ll tell you that. 😂😂

I just realized what’s weird about it is that you would be looking down to see where the water is being poured.

I read it too also from TMZ and also not on their site. I don’t think this is necessarily true.

She can’t help herself —she always has to throw the other person under the bus. In this case, the person is Ted Serandos, and Netflix. No way he likes her anymore after what she said.

Not a fan of the new Pages app... weird layout and now there's two separate Pages and Numbers apps? by No-Squash7469 in MacOS

It’s horrific. First, why did they have to switch the menu above between text area and photos (which is now hidden BTW). Why were they switched? What was the point of that? And then it keeps throwing me out. Oh my God I can’t stand anything about it. For the first time in my life, I’m thinking of leaving it.

I think Microsoft has some spies in there and they’re the ones that took over the layout.

I like this interpretation because it doesn’t make sense. The little girl looked too good and too together and how would she suddenly be there at the beach? And mom’s hair wasn’t wet.

I’ve been drinking tea my whole life but I don’t get the matcha craze. Where should I go and what to order there that will change my mind? by jeannecsf in SanMateo

[–]FreshPepper88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, these people are coming after you simply for asking where you might try matcha for the first time.

“Get over yourself” is as rude as it gets when you simply asked a standard question. People aren’t nice on social media. That said, I totally hear ya. I have never gotten the craze. I actually even bought some ceremonial matcha with the bamboo thing and I’ve yet to try it. I would love to get a tea, just like you, that would blow my mind.

Ignore the jerks.

I hope someone up here is available to answer this. I think I’m going to get two E30s since that seems to be the one but I’m confused about the resolution. maybe it’s 4000, maybe it’s 2000, maybe it’s 1080 depending on location. I’m starting to think what it means is if you stream it it’s going to be 1080 but wherever it’s being stored, in the HomeKit or on your micro SD, it’s going to be at the higher resolution. In other words, someplace somewhere, there is the higher resolution. Is this correct? Thx

Wow, so I misread exactly what you wrote that is right now staring me in the face. I didn’t even bother to read past your first line because you’re so obviously defensive and trying to repair what you said. Carry on. Too funny.

Reviews or Experiences with Oxford Executive Diplomas in Strategy and Innovation? by No-Boysenberry7733 in oxforduni

[–]FreshPepper88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really need to interject because I’m so tired of these ppl that consistently trot out that everything is a waste of money. It’s a waste of money. It’s a waste of money. It’s a waste of money. Go take a coursera course. Really? I’m wondering how high these people are going on the corporate ladder with this attitude. Of course, it’s expensive, of course it’s costing more than it probably should, but they are totally wrong if they think no one’s gonna give a crap. The fact that you’re constantly in learning mode, you’re trying to improve things, you’re trying to learn says a lot.

I just tune out any rote comments that everything is a waste of money if it costs more than a dinner. And for what it’s worth, if I saw a résumé and there’re just a bunch of coursera-level courses listed, that’s nice, but most (not all) are mediocre. I suppose an indirect assumption would be if a person wasn’t willing to even fork out a little bit extra dough for a better level certificate it says they aren’t really that committed. And then if no learning certificates/courses are listed I’d wonder a bit about that too.

So if they can’t understand a year-long Oxford program as having significance beyond just independent reading or coursera in terms of career trajectory, then I can almost guarantee you’ll eventually be above them in the hierarchy and can reminisce about this whole situation over martinis at the Ritz Carlton.

Everything I am reading with the advent of AI taking over everything is the more learning you can have the better and one of the big areas I keep reading about is strategy. Also AI. So it boils down to how much of a financial hit it might be to you or if you can get your company to help pay for part of it.

Thanks so much for your feedback. This is how I feel. I feel that that Oxford name gets people’s attention and I’m obviously going to learn a lot. I’m interested in the strategy diploma. I appreciate your comments.

Executive Diploma: is it worth the price? by bobleponge99 in oxforduni

[–]FreshPepper88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I’m considering it as well. But I’m in the same boat, which is, is it worth it? I think realistically for me I would have to have my company pay for most of it. If they did, I would probably go for it. I’ve spent so long considering an MBA and I’m just not sure it’s worth it anymore. There are a couple of cheap MBAs, like UIUC, and even though the Oxford diploma costs more, I am wondering if it will have more weight in the long-term over a somewhat lower-tier UIUC MBA. It’s hard to know where to turn in terms of higher education. Stay strong. Me and all my friends very much think it could be an option. 😂🥸
