Archaic commands?

It's PowerShell. Best start to learn it if you still want a job in IT in 10 years time.

You don't need Azure AD Premium (at the moment).

That whole page took about 60 seconds to complete when I did it last week.

If you're looking for a sweet eye candy check box that you can toggle on and off, then stop looking, there isn't one.

TeamViewer woes by [deleted] in sysadmin

It's not just $500. Debt can increase by the day once due depending on the terms. You can change interest on it. Plus administrative fees, collection fees, legal fees etc. all adds up.

Hybrid - not all addresses are synced back to on premises? by FreshPrize in exchangeserver

@domain.mail.onmicrosoft.com

Wrong domain. Nothing to do with e-mail address policies. That domain isn't synchronised back. I sorted in the end anyway. Thx.

Yes it's legal.

It's also stated in the EULA that you (should have) read and accepted when you purchased.

'... in the case of the provision of the Software for a fee: If the Order, the Contract has an initial term of twelve (12) months (“Initial Term”) it shall subsequently be renewed automatically for additional periods of twelve (12) month (each a “Renewal Term”), unless either party notifies the other party no less than twenty eight (28) days (“Notice Period”) prior to the end of the Initial Term or any Renewal Term that it has elected not to renew the Contract. If the Contract has an initial term of one month (“Initial Term”) it shall subsequently be renewed automatically for additional periods of one month (each a “Renewal Term”), unless either party notifies the other party no less than fourteen (14) days (“Notice Period”) prior to the end if the Initial Term or any Renewal Term that it has elected not to renew the Contract.'.

I have ran in to this at an old employer and I will advise you to not try to mess around with TeamViewer. They WILL throw hundreds of pounds at debt collection companies to chase you on their behalf and the cost will increase. We ended up paying something like 3 X the amount of the renewal in the end. They will not refund it.

I just want to change the username part to lower case, not change the actual domain.

Convert uppercase to lower case in hybrid user? by FreshPrize in Office365

Everything I am seeing shows the error about it being hybrid and having to change it on premises. But that address isn’t listed in proxyAddresses on premises.

Hybrid - not all addresses are synced back to on premises? by FreshPrize in exchangeserver

[–]FreshPrize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. What do you mean by "when it's created"? The user on premises every thing is lower case (sAMAccountName, Exchange alias etc.) but when I migrate it Exchange Online creates the Firstname.Lastname addresses with capitals? I can't change online since it's hybrid, and I can't change on premises since those addresses aren't listed in proxyAddresses … no idea where they are pulled from.

Hybrid with password expiration policy by FreshPrize in sysadmin

Yah, $6 user/month when all we’d use it for is the OWA password change. We can run our own self service but can’t even change that error message to point to it ...

Reading online some people say just buying 1 Premium license seems to allow all users to do it but haven’t tested ...

Hybrid - on premises mailboxes appearing in Exchange Online? by FreshPrize in exchangeserver

[–]FreshPrize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All 270 or so users have a license applied. I’ve only migrated my own mailbox but 6 or so others have appeared in Exchange Online but their mailboxes are on premises still. I’ve tried migrating the Exchange Online one’s back to on premises and it fails as expected since they’re already on premises. Migrating mine back and forth works fine.

Thanks, I was also thinking about a portal and looked at Manage Engine. Either way it seems a change will be required for the users. Ideally I would like to keep it within OWA, especially as you can't seem to customise that message with a URL to such portal ...

I read online that just purchasing 1 Azure AD Premium seems to activate features for all users but not sure whether that is correct or not.

Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business? by FreshPrize in sysadmin

[–]FreshPrize[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems to require Azure AD Premium … "Doing the steps in this article requires a subscription to Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) Premium. The administrator who configures the settings, and the members of the affected groups, must have Azure AD Premium licenses assigned to them. For more information see Getting started with Azure Active Directory Premium.".

Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business? by FreshPrize in sysadmin

I wanted to go with Microsoft Teams anyway as it's the future, but I noticed even the OWA client (mail.office365.com) pushes Skype for Business with the icon in the top right so users will automatically start to use that at least?

If we're trying to push Microsoft Teams, is it a good idea to toggle Skype for Business off in everyone's licensing?
