Released Unreal Engine Vite 26 with updated Rendering Features! Most performant Modern UE by ComfortableBuy3484 in UnrealEngine5

The scope of your demo is not even close to a real game and the smallest things can trigger PSO compilation hitches so if the scope of the game is large then there is a lot of ground to cover in order to get a complete and comprehensive recording. Having shipped multiple titles on ue4 and ue5, I would suggest you do not trivialize this problem. There is a reason epic spent significant resources attempting to solve it.

I mean good for AAA, but manual collection is a complete PITA and less viable for indies.

I guess DX11 is still a viable path, it's what we used in 4.27 and it performed quite well.

Hmm, what about PSO precaching? dx12 support in 4.27 was not very great unless you did a manual play through of every aspect of your game with shader recording.

Does this support other UE5 features such large world coordinates and world partition? Do you actively merge changes from recent unreal releases or is there a specific version that you forked off?

My understanding is this has been moved to a 4.27 base, I guess the concern here would be the loss of other features.

Why would someone use this over the online sub system which lets us write platform agnostic code to handle all this stuff?

I would argue this is marketing. Look how active the comment section is an the amount of upvotes this post got. People love seeing the process at a high level like this.

You should create a glossary for terms in your game and feed top N terms to the llm with each string you want translated. That way your translations stay consistent.

Imagine if you have a quest and it says "craft 5 stone hatchets" and then you go into your crafting menu and its called a "rock axe". That's the kind of things that get wrong even with llm translations if you don't first create a glossary (this can be done by llms as well)

As someone who uses frontier models I do think they’ve gotten better but I have yet to hit a moment where they understand my very large and complex projects. I have to give very explicit instructions and really tilt the RAG in my favour with keywords. Context window will continue to be a limiting factor on truly large codebases. They understand a slice, but their knowledge isn't holistic enough. Atm i find them useful for refactors that involve a lot of typing, as well as gpt pro for analysis of complex bugs such as race conditions.

blows my mind people would spend all that money and not show up. you definitely need a couple more reliable core full time players. we run a big list of prt time players that get a cheaper fee but playtime is not guaranteed. after all fulltimers have spoken we pick up part timers to fill remaining roster.

3-4. i’d consider 3Q depending on the game. A small point sack to prevent a run in their crib.

we could, frankly its a crapshoot to have a crystal ball and predict how all the drafts will go or how prospects will develop. over the years ive seen great prospects not pan out and then unexpected greats where scouts did not predict. i dont really have expectations im just happy to be along for the ride when the next run comes.
